I have dreads more than halfway down my back, and I (obviously) wore them to my interview. I'm in, so I'm guessing it didn't hurt at all. ;)

Flame? Lol. It seems to mean there's something bothering them. Could be you have a bad rec in there, disciplinary/ criminal record? Essay was boring/ trite? Weak or no ECs? (Doubt its that one).

Still in college, no major work experience, lots of extra-currics. Looking at the forum I feel like I'm the only one with high numbers that isn't a splitter that got asked to group interview lol
Oh, a GROUP interview? No idea- could be they just want a chance to sell you. Group interviews are totally different from 1 on 1s, from my understanding.

Yeah I hope its just them trying to differentiate between those who want it and those just applying, since it doesn't seem like you learn much in group interviews anyways

Aren't you just going to go to NYU when you get in anyway?

Hey, quick question. Has anybody on here been ding'd after having an interview?? I read somewhere that last year, about 75% of people who were interviewed got accepted. That is pretty promising IMO.....

Yea, they're probably considering you YP, so they want you to convince them you really want to go there, or they want to convince you.

Hey I was asked to interview on 12/16 and still haven't heard back about scheduling an interview. I don't know if this delay is normal considering the holiday break or if I should email them back. Are there any others asked to interview mid december who haven't heard back yet?

I got the request on 12/3 and decided to give them 3 weeks... didn't hear anything, so I emailed the admissions office the week between Christmas and New Years. Immediately got an auto-reply that they were closed for the week, but then I got an email yesterday from the admissions office, saying they would reassign me to a different alum, who immediately contacted me literally an hour after the admissions office did.

To sum up, I would contact admissions office and tell them you haven't heard, and hopefully you will be reassigned and contacted shortly!

I know this has been asked, but I haven't seen a real answer yet. Does anyone actually know what a group interview invite means for your admission chances? That being said, I do appreciate speculation in the absence of real knowledge.

also got the request for the group interview (170, 3.77). it says in the email that your application won't be disadvantaged if you don't do the interview. any evidence that this true? i really can't take time off work to do the interview, plus i'm already in at a school that i prefer over GULC anyway.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
