Called today to inquire about matching scholarship decisions. I was told that they have no idea when decisions will be coming out and it was recommended that I take the other offer because there were so many applicants for matching funds.

Subsequently, submitted my withdrawal on the response form.

If true, that's quite lame. How could they possibly have "no idea" when matching scholarship awards will be going out?

+1

When I talked with Dean Tominaga at ASW he said they had been slowed down by one of the committee being busy last week, and that they were going to really try to work on it this week. Guess that doesn't really let us know when decisions will be coming out though.

Alright, that's it. First, the budget cuts and tuition rises. Then, the DROP in the USNWR rankings!!!!111 http://i39.tinypic.com/10xfzf5.jpg

What ever will we prospective Boalties do?

There is only one thing to do: attend law school at Arizona State, which had the largest jump in the rankings, from 55 to 38. Based on its current upward trajectory, ASU will be ranked 4th by the time we're 3Ls. Go Sun Devils!!

I received an e-mail reply to my inquiry about matching scholarships that Dean Tominaga is trying to give out all decisions today, but It is nearly 2pm here and I have not heard anything. And the Financial Aid office closes at 4pm.

It'd make sense to have matching decisions before the enrollment date (friday)

Ugh. I guess they weren't serious about trying to give out decisions yesterday if they haven't even contacted anyone today. :|

Can't see what she would have used for matching... The $75K from Cornell?

That's probably the sum of need based and matching

Was holding out hope on a scholly matching before tentatively committing, and forgot to do it yesterday. So I got an e-mail today saying I was withdrawn. :?

I guess it's all good cuz even if they matched my scholly offer, I'd need more to go there. Best of luck to the rest of you!

Based on past years, it looks like Berkeley will offer merit aid to URMs without a specific scholarship to match. It's hard to tell, though.

That's the impression I'm getting. I've kind of given up hope for one at this point.

Yeah, no kidding. I think the only people who have reported getting them are URMs, too.
