Congrats Moba. Penn is an excellent school.Moba wrote:So guys i'm curious to know where everyone is heading. Congrats! It's a relief to be done, isn't it?Moba wrote:So guys i'm curious to know where everyone is heading. After a really excruciating few weeks spent curled up in a corner clutching various glossy school brochures, I deposited at CLS. Really killed me to turn down Mich, but in the end I think (hope) I made the right decision...

SOMG, I members this thread . . . Parker, I'm sure you're making the right decision. My mantra lately is "every choice is the right choice", and when it's Columbia v. Mich, pretty sure that's true. Just focus on getting psyched for NYC instead.parker09 wrote:Congrats! It's a relief to be done, isn't it?Moba wrote:So guys i'm curious to know where everyone is heading. That said, bummer I won't see you at Michigan in the fall! Sent in my deposit yesterday. Feeling pretty good. Holly, I still haven't heard from NYU either- I might have some bevs and then call them tonight, just to see what happens.

Thanks. Whatever happens with the wailist? Like can I stay on HLS waitlist even if I've accepted at Penn? or what's the deal?

Just to update- I finally got my letter from NYU about a week ago (I was waitlisted- shocker). It was dated April 15th. I've never had a piece of mail take that long to get to me, so no idea what happened.

Me too (about last week, and being waitlisted, and April 15). Mine wasn't even postmarked till April 23... it took them 8 days to stuff it into an envelope?!roundabout wrote:Just to update- I finally got my letter from NYU about a week ago (I was waitlisted- shocker). I wanted to bring back this thread for all the fun and/or traumatic stories from people waiting for decisions outside the US. Any idea how schools are contacting applicants outside the US this cycle?

I've gotten one letter in the postal mail. Faster than I expected but still a bit of a lag.5251 wrote:I wanted to bring back this thread for all the fun and/or traumatic stories from people waiting for decisions outside the US. Received an admit packet and a follow up letter from Duke.
Nothing else yet...although I'm waiting on an admit packet from Michigan as well.
Really looking forward to something purple

I've only heard from Harvard, and they were great about calling and mailing internationally.
Glancing through last year's thread, it looks like some decisions just come later for people living abroad. It looked like Berkeley didn't make international calls and just waited for their emails to go out in early December, and NYU sent the package internationally with whatever lag time that entails. Meep.

Re: International/Currently Abroad "IWantMyDecision!" Thread
I am in the middle of nowhere in a developing country. I access the internet by pinging my 2g modem off of a nearby cell phone tower, and my physical address is, and I kid you not: "fourth house down mountain from the XTel Tower (next to the boulder); Town Name, Department Name, Country Name." For this reason, my physical address on my apps is actually my father's house back in the states. I unfortunately will not have the pleasure of physically opening any acceptance letters . But hey, an acceptance is an acceptance!
Good luck to all! This should be a fun support thread.

I'm in the Central Asian-ish part of China, and no one knows the name of the semi-paved road I lived on. I asked all my neighbors, who all said, "I dunno, why?" I'm having mail sent to a friend who lives 20 minutes away in a more developed apartment complex that seems to get mail fairly regularly...Oh, the joys of being abroad
