American U

So my decision changed last Monday, 11/23...most people have heard by now I believe. I was assuming it was just taking longer because it may be a rejection and not first class mail. But it has been a very long time, considering I live on the East Coast. Has anyone else whose status changed that day not heard? I'm wondering if I don't hear today or tomorrow, maybe I should contact the Admissions Office? Any advice would be appreciated

I heard on 11/25 and I'm in NY. With it being a holiday weekend, you never know how things may have been backed up. I'd give it til the end of the week.

They say give it two weeks before contacting them. I'd wait until then.

The server appears to be down...could it mean that more decisions are on the way?

Same as you. I'm on the east coast, decision rendered 11/23 and haven't heard anything yet. I'm assuming they send their rejection letters via regular post mail, and maybe they didn't bother sending out rejection letters until this past Monday, after Thanksgiving break, which is why I haven't heard back yet. Not saying you are rejected, but I am guessing I am !

My status also changed to decision made as of 11/23 and I haven't heard anything yet. I live on the east coast as well. I might call them tomorrow, haven't decided yet...

applied 11/4. Don't remember the complete date, but it was shortly after that. I wouldn't be so sure you're rejected, even a regular letter sent from DC should have reached anywhere on the east coast by now. Who knows what the problem is.

having lived in DC for five years I am well aware that the mail system is notoriously bad. Don't sweat it.

I'm in! Got my big fat envelope in the mail Monday after Thanksgiving (i'm on the west coast, if that helps anyone)! It's a nice feeling. 8) Generic priority mail envelope.
submitted: Halloween
"decision made": 11/23
snail mail received: 11/30
full-time division

I'm really impressed by the short turnaround time!
Not my first choice school, but I would still go. I've heard that it's in a weird part of DC, though.

Good luck everyone! I'm sure you'll hear soon!

I still haven't gone DR at American--I live in DC, applied 10/11 (went complete 11/3, updated complete date 11/23) and still nothing.

3 years out of school, 167/3.2 GPA from Princeton, no idea why they are dragging their feet. I'm glad decisions are at least going out though!

Did your status change to "decision made" or just to "application complete." I applied a few weeks ago and on 11/23 the status remained "application complete" but the date changed.

I am checking my mail every day... can't wait for this to be over!

I've seen this with other people that have high numbers like yourself...they may be waiting a little while on you because with your numbers, they figure you will probably end up getting into a higher ranked school. If you look at the graph on LSN, i think all but one acceptance has had a 164 or lower, which is their 75th percentile LSAT.

I'm in the same boat as you! 2 years out, good job, 166/3.76 from Michigan. Still haven't heard a thing from AU.

Yeah you are probably right--if they wait until I withdraw, that doesn't hurt their yield.

I prob won't go to AU even if I do get accepted since I have a UGA acceptance already, but I think I'm just antsy from the decision dry-spell. I just want to hear from SOMEWHERE either way!

Any word on when we would hear about scholarship money? I know they are pretty tight on it. Would it have come with an acceptance?

Hi everyone--I am new to this thread and actually JUST submitted my application to American two hours ago. It obviously has not been sent/received...but I had a few questions.

I see from previous posts that there is an online status check website? Or, do they email?

Also, do you know when they plan on making RD decisions?

And last question...what do you think my chances are with a 158 and a 3.65? I have worked three years and have a Masters degree from UVA (hoping that all helps).
