It makes me think somethings odd with thier numbers, because their admissions standards didnt be used to be quite so high and then they all of a sudden jumped to the highest off all the penn tier 2s...Burger in a can wrote:Does anyone else think it's weird that the majority of accepted applicants so far (at least according to lawschoolnumbers.com) are below the median in either LSAT or GPA or both? I mean I am excited for everyone who has been accepted, but isn't it sort of unusual to accept those with lower numbers first?
Where are you seeing these numbers? According to the TLS ranking chart, the 75th percentile GPA at Temple is 3.65, and their high LSAT is 164. Nova's numbers, respectively, are 3.64 and 163. I'm not trying to say that you're wrong- I just want to know if I am looking at outdated stats. Thanks!Nicholasnickynic wrote:It makes me think somethings odd with thier numbers, because their admissions standards didnt be used to be quite so high and then they all of a sudden jumped to the highest off all the penn tier 2s...Burger in a can wrote:Does anyone else think it's weird that the majority of accepted applicants so far (at least according to lawschoolnumbers.com) are below the median in either LSAT or GPA or both? or, more to the point, why all these below-25% acceptances and very few above-median acceptances? Like, there are some folks on LSN who are still pending with LSATs into the 170s and perfectly good GPAs. Why weren't they accepted first?Nicholasnickynic wrote:No you're right, I stand corrected.
However, I know their numbers are much higher than Pitt (157-159-161) and a bit higher than Penn State (although that might change). But I AM sure they they have gotten higher recently. And then theres still the question... why all these below 25% acceptances ? o.O

Haha ok, but what about me? My LSAT is two points higher than 88% of the admits on LSN, and my application went complete earlier than most of them too. Sure, I might be rejected because of other reasons, and I'm not AT ALL saying that I am a more worthy applicant than anyone else, regardless of numbers.Nicholasnickynic wrote:Burger in a can wrote:or, more to the point, why all these below-25% acceptances and very few above-median acceptances? Or, it could just be reporting bias. Perhaps for 170s nova is a safety school, so they dont bother updating b/c they dont care. Where as below 25% are super excited, so post right away about acceptance.
Always beware of teh_math and teh_stat
NICE! That's what I'm talking about! Congratulations on the acceptance, and on destroying my theory about their admissions tactics!blhoward2 wrote:In via status checker on 12/1. Complete 11/2. No UR ever on the checker. 3.92/168 non-traditional.
Some of it may be the lack of exposure for this thread. I briefly searched for a Villanova thread yesterday and didn't find one...and assumed that one had to exist so I didn' create one.Burger in a can wrote:NICE! That's what I'm talking about! Oh, and thank you for your military service.
I actually realized after posting that I had already counted you as the one anomaly on LSN. You're the only admit on LSN with a higher LSAT than me- which is why I said I was higher than 88%. Still, I think it's just a weird coincidence. Congrats again, and here's hoping these acceptances keep coming!blhoward2 wrote:Some of it may be the lack of exposure for this thread.
