WL via email.
However, this was all bold and underlined in the email... "some applicants from the wait list very likely will be offered admission. If you have a special interest in attending the Law School, we encourage you to send us a letter or e-mail in which you speak specifically to that interest and the likelihood that you would enroll if admitted"
Do they say that to everyone or does that actually mean the chances are decent?

For me, last year, it was--Deposit at UIUC on Friday, April 24th...off the WL at Wisconsin Monday, April 27th. Goodbye, money.lawcycle2010 wrote:Question for people who got off the waitlist...
What did your timeline look like (i.e.: Waitlist email on Thurs, LOCI sent Fri, Off waitlist on Weds??)
Thanks for your help!!

Had a great tour today at UW! Sat in on a Crim Pro class and chatted with Asst Admissions Director Scheller for a while. Got all of my questions answered and even talked about TLS and LSN !
As much as I was hoping for movement on the waitlist before, I am even MORE excited about UW after today.

Did you get any sense of when WL activity might start? I'm also waitlisted and incredibly anxious...tdubsWI wrote:Had a great tour today at UW! I hope so! The wait is killing me... however if it is a rejection it can wait I don't want to melt down during the last semester of my senior year. At least until finals are over lolSlimpee wrote:Dean Hall indicated that WL movement could start very soon.Snazzygirl wrote:

Did he indicate when they should be through looking at applications for the first time? 12 weeks and not even a waitlist.Slimpee wrote:Dean Hall indicated that WL movement could start very soon.Snazzygirl wrote:

Does anyone know how much the first deposit is? And how long does one have to accept/decline an offer off of the waitlist? Thanks - I couldn't find any of this info on the UW website (which actually has some amazing links).

According to CoolKatz, first deposit is $0. Dunno about your 2nd question.Snazzygirl wrote:Does anyone know how much the first deposit is? I remember someone mentioning earlier that UW is giving people 1 month from notifying them that they have been accepted off the waitlist to give them a decision....just from what I remember hearing.Snazzygirl wrote:Does anyone know how much the first deposit is? Has anyone heard the last time people were rejected?? LSN seems to make me think UW isn't rejecting very many people rather WL everyone....anyone else worried?

Re: Wisconsin 2010 Application Cycle
Ugh. I'm struggling with my LOCI. Wisconsin is one of my top 4 choices, basically my 4 targets, but out of those 4, it's probably fourth. I don't know if it's even effective for me to write a LOCI unless you tell the school they are your top choice. I'm looking at WUSTL, UIUC, and Minnesota as well. The first two seem to have better career options, but I get in-state tuition at Wisconsin. I'm "hold listed" at WUSTL, waitlisted at UIUC, and I haven't heard anything from Minnesota yet, but I have the numbers to get into one, if not all of those places, plus probably get scholarships that somewhat even out the cost with Wisconsin.
One part of me wants to write a LOCI ASAP and get it in to Wisconsin, but I don't know how effective one would be if I just say, "you are one of my top choices," rather than "I will matriculate for sure if you admit me." The other part of me wants to wait a few more weeks to see how things pan out so I can write a more genuine LOCI if indeed, Wisconsin moves up on my list (due to not getting off waitlists).

Wow after looking at LSN UW is really handing out the rejections today. If my count is right it is already at 7. I wonder how many applications they actually still have to get through yet. Does anyone have any idea? I know on 3/17 Dean Hall told me that they had about 1/3 of the applicant pool to review yet.

Re: Wisconsin 2010 Application Cycle
Initially I was worried about that. But then I realized that the earlier you were WL the better. I mean people that were WL a few weeks before april 1st are already in (panther boooo). So the people who get WL later have a worse chance than the early ones. Which kind of evens everything out. I'm in the middle sooooolawcycle2010 wrote:I remember someone mentioning earlier that UW is giving people 1 month from notifying them that they have been accepted off the waitlist to give them a decision....just from what I remember hearing.Snazzygirl wrote:Does anyone know how much the first deposit is?
