You aren't gonna like this, but there are only 3 bars in the town. Slim pickings. I've been there a few times and live in VA. I could call some friends who live in Lexington and ask for suggestions.Panther7 wrote:SpaceDawg wrote:

I PMed you with my name and # to go out next Saturday. I wish it was Saturday now. I need a drink.

Anyone ever been to Lexington? I'm from Wisconsin, never been near the area, what are the places we need to check out?

I will be at the ASW March 20th, definitely would love to hit up one of the bars and see what the atmosphere is like. The stars thing would be wicked cool to do, but would also be kind of "skull and bones-esque."

McCoy's (Irish-ish pub), Macados (VA sandwich place...most locations have a bar), the Palms (if it' still open.... bit of an undergrad hangout).
There may be more, but these are three I remember.

The impression I get is that the 0Ls will probably be invited to whatever the current law students are doing. If its a bar or a party I'm not sure.

This is a huge concern of mine. I like to find a good bar to hang out at that's not really frequented by people at my job/department/program etc. A getaway spot. Doesn't sound too possible at W&L. I guess I'd find a way to make do

All TLS people should be wearing a red string on their right wrist and an orange string on their left wrist at all times. This is how we distinguish.

Judge/Lawyer reputation is 3.8. This, for example, ties them with UCLA, Iowa, Emory, GW, and ND. It puts them above USC, Boston University, IUB, Minnesota, UIUC, BC, William and Mary, Fordham, Alabama, and U of Washington.Panther7 wrote:You have the scores on the judge/peer reviews from the last few cycles? Weirdly, their Academic rating is what is lower (still 3.4, which I think is about 30th). Mayhaps it's this new program that has lowered the school's status among the more theoretically-inclined professorial groups.
P.S. I'll be at the April 2-3 event at Wash. and Lee

Same. I was thinking I could build a private bar in the woods. Bears and squirrels will be my drinking buddies.

Be careful. I'm from that neck of the woods and there are already enough stills operating. Make sure you don't stumble into someone else's bar.

The distillation of any liquor is illegal. That being said, theoretically speaking, if you're interested in how to build a still and distill different types of liquor and age them, I could probably be of assistance.MarkRenton wrote:I was thinking about building my own still this summer. Might be a good idea at W&L. I'm curious about the legality of it if I don't sell any of it. What do y'all think?
