Since getting the 20k a year scholarship it definitely moved into 'viable contention.' Still would prefer Villanova or Temple to PSU because I have a lot of networking contacts in Philly, but still waiting on scholarship info from them.pantherfan wrote:how serious are you all about attending? viable contender?

Same for me really. I got the 20k scholarship as well so they are a real choice now. I need to see what Villanova offers me and go from there I guess.jlnoa0915 wrote:Since getting the 20k a year scholarship it definitely moved into 'viable contention.' all of the above. status checker, then email, and a mail package a few weeks later with scholarship info.tallywhacker wrote:congrats those who have heard back. Was it stats checker, email, snail mail?
on an unrelated note, has anyone tried negotiating on scholarships with them? i know my numbers aren't terribly gaudy and i'm very pleased with what i've been offered, but if there was any way to get more to help keep down my debt, i'd be interested to know how much leeway we have in negotiating a little extra money.

They are moving up the USNews rankings...This doesnt require developing a better program... Just accepting higher scoring candidates.nick637 wrote:same here, whats the deal PS?ram jam wrote:Under Review since 11/12. More chats in the near future.
Penn State Law will be hosting anon-line chat this evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m. (EST); two admissions professionals and some students will be on-line to answer general questions.
The next chat is scheduled for Tuesday, February 16 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Assistant Professor of Clinical Law, Jill C. Engle will be on-line. Professor Engle teaches family law and is supervising attorney for the Family law Clinic at University Park. As always, students will be available to answer student-related questions.
Chats will be scheduled on an on-going basis through March. Days and times, which will vary to accommodate individual schedules and geographic time zones, will be posted in the "New and Events" section of our website, http://www.law.psu.edu. You do not need to be on-line the entire time, but can log in or out, even if just for a few minutes, at anytime during the allotted time frame to ask a specific question or join in the on-going conversation.

I was under review for around about a month then was accepted and given a 20k scholarship. I wouldn't stress it much, just seems they are slower with their turn around than other schools.

Under Review since 11/24. At this point its almost a race since I have gotten zero correspondence from Denver and PSU. I wanna see which school actually takes the longest.

UR since 12/7 and got the WL today. At 25th percentile and 75th percentile for LSAT and GPA, respectively.
I'll be withdrawing on Monday.

Just about the same numbers for me man and same result. I saw that you got into Loyola too though. Honestly, I would rather go to Loyola over PSU... think about it. They must be gunning for a lot higher class this year LSAT wise... they accepted virtually EVERYONE who had a 157 last year according to LSN...J-tow10 wrote:UR since 12/7 and got the WL today. i was 75 25 for lsat/gpa respectively. got a WL. despite my grandpa playing football there, a classroom being named after me, a scholarship started by my grandpa, and a kickin personal statement about how much i really love penn state.
im getting a little bitter now.

Yeah, I'll be withdrawing soon too. PA has other law schools. Time to ride the Temple WL. You can ask another student to pay sticker at a school without a strong city to place directly into, I'm good.
