Don't lose too much faith. They supposedly blocked it so no one can get in.bergberg wrote:I'm thinking that its a bad sign that I can't register on the admitted students site (secret status check). I'm ED and haven't heard anything yet

Conspiracy? No. But there isn't a single post regarding someone recieving mail today from GW.Dignan wrote:It would be very, very weird if no one got mail from GW today. I mean, it's not like GW conspired with UPS to ensure that every acceptance letter--to urban and rural locations scattered across the United States--would reach everyone's mailbox on Monday, January 11. There have to be at least a few people who will get the mail today (and probably a couple who get the mail tomorrow).Shopalot86 wrote:No one getting mail today seems like a bad sign.

Just got in today... pretty excited actually...
only thing though I applied PT because I thought I wanted to work FT for my company and go to law school PT... since then I have changed my mind.
Now I have some hard decisions to make. GW PT or another school FT.
Anyone think I could call the admission office and see if they would also consider me for FT?

NIICE!!! when did you go complete? i think you could easily call and ask - it's not like they are going to retract an admittance just for asking - you have nothing to lose. CongratsTripleK wrote:Just got in today... pretty excited actually...

I live outside US. I email the Admission Office and JoSie said they sent out a mail to my address on Jan 10. I am ED. Can I assuem it is a bad news since ED acceptance have been all used up?

Bad news as in you didn't get the full-ride ED scholarship. Only a very small percentage of applicants were accepted ED. You may very well still get in.lifeaway1985 wrote:I live outside US. Hi guys!
I applied ED and am still waiting to hear back, but I live overseas, so I was expecting a time lag anyway. Just wondering, are the decisions coming by regular post? I noticed someone mention UPS. Just want to make sure I should be looking in my mail box instead of talking to my doorman for deliveries instead.

The rest of us EDers were most likely deferred to RD. Note that the standards for RD acceptance are a lot lower than for ED acceptance due to the full ride scholarship. Granted I am bummed also that I will likely not being getting a full ride scholarship.lifeaway1985 wrote:I live outside US. Glad to here that they already sent out the mail though. Maybe the rest of us EDers can be expecting something shortly then.

I believe at least for the US that it is regular USPS mail.eveliee wrote:Hi guys!

It may be different for International.
The previous comment you saw about UPS was in regards to a joke, and not based on anything else.

I e-mailed an admissions officer today who told me that all decisions would be mailed out, and he told me to expect my decision sometimes early to mid next week. I applied ED, so I am assuming that that means decisions for ED will be mailed on Friday.CyLaw wrote:

Are any of the recent admits able to log in to the admitted students site? I'm not, and was hoping I'm just missing something before I have to email admissions. I'd rather have a fellow TLSer point out my stupidity than GW.

Yes, you have to sign up for the portal first. There are directions in your admissions packet.slb052 wrote:Are any of the recent admits able to log in to the admitted students site? OKAY, so I have to know. Calling all GWU ED-ers on TLS. Has anyone who has been accepted this week (Saturday, Monday, Tuesday) been an ED applicant? OR have the only ED applicants accepted been those who are actually accepted with the Presidential Merit Scholarship back in Decemeber?

So you haven't actually gotten the acceptance package yet? Veritas, have you been accepted, or did you just sign up for the AS page to see?bergberg wrote:Ack. That's what I was afraid of. Guess I'm looking waitlist (I hope?). Sad face.

I was able to sign up for the AS site a week ago, and then they shut it off ( probs cause of TLS) and I wasn't able to access it until I received my packet in the mail. So don't read into it.
