I did a similar trip last summer, though I came from the East Coast. Went out to St Louis, then camped in Rocky Mountain Park, then north to Mount Rushmore. On our way to Minneapolis from there, we totally stopped at that Wall Drug tourist trap since we saw signs for it every freakin mile. I would say Wall Drug and the Corn Palace were two of the most pointless stops ever.SaintClarence27 wrote:Vegas, dude. You can swim in the hotel pool if you're looking for beach.
I went on a roundabout western trip in '97. We road tripped it, and saw the Badlands (AWESOME), Mount Rushmore (Less awesome), drove down and camped in Rocky Mountain National Park (SO fun), then headed to the Grand Canyon (OMG THE MOST AMAZING THING I'VE EVER SEEN). That was my favorite vacation. There are plenty of casinos in SD, by the way. Just don't stop in Wall.

I suggested some places in SC but was met with resistance which came in the form of "nah dude, chicks, bro, we need chicks."H. E. Pennypacker wrote: Rent a house on the beach in Oak Island, SC. It's cheap compared to other big beach spots (like Cape Cod). It's not much for crowds, but the weather will be great, so will the food, and you can definitely find some golf in the area. I think you'd find it very relaxing. Plus it's an easy drive down I-95.
I thought about Vegas too, but everyone seems entangled in the idea of a beach.
What's San Diego like?

I vote for this too. My aunt & uncle live on Oak Island in NC and I know they have rentals there. It's about an hour drive to Wilmington and an hour drive to Myrtle Beach.badpixie wrote:Another vote for the Carolinas here. My family is big on Topsail Island, NC, which is one of the barrier islands, a little bit north of Wilmington. No idea what rentals are going for anymore, because we have a family member who bought a place down there so we crash for free, but it's a great area.H. E. Pennypacker wrote:

but.. if you could go anywhere in that area... definitely Bald Head Island. No cars allowed - have to take a ferry over, everyone drives golf carts, houses are gorgeous, big preserve areas and turtle egg beaches.... etc.

1. How did you up your scholarship offer? I am at the $36,600 level and am ready to seal the deal if they up it to $44,000.goosey wrote:Brooklyn upped my scholarship to 45,200 per year, which means full tuition, books, and $110 extra dollars (unlimited metro card?)

I'm stoked about the brooklyn offer, but its still bittersweet because I really wanted to go to fordham. oh well.

I emailed dean brown to ask for merit scholarship, he offered me a certain amount I am wondering if it is still possible to negotiate with him?

Can't bring myself to withdraw yet... I'll probably have this feeling until April 15th and just won't send the deposit.

I love the gym, if for no other reason than the two smokin hot lady personal trainers that work there. They are totally the waitresses to my Charlie. Sigh.even2flow wrote:Seriously. The ones at my gym are all juicers. If it wasn't for the skin tight pants, I'd be convinced they were men. Or at least used to be men. Whatever comes first.H. E. On the flip side, the cardio area is usually filled with a lot of very attractive women who seem to want nothing to do with me.
Whenever I go to the gym tho I try to wear the shortest shorts I can find (hot pants) and offer to help them with their technique.

Yeah cause the 'seem' means I put in no effort to even speaking to them or even making my existance known and just kind of hope deep down inside they'll come talk to me, and that I won't stutter or vomit all over them. I may, or may not, have self-esteem issues.H. E. Pennypacker wrote:You have such a great outlook on things.even2flow wrote:

Yet I remain remarkably vain. I wonder how that works.

It might also help if you grew a mustache and maybe wore a headband. I know I'd take fitness advice from you if you did.LaurenGayle wrote:Your pants very clearly just aren't short enough.even2flow wrote: The ones at my gym are all juicers. Is that what it is? I worry about chafing when I run if I go any shorter, but I'll take your advice tonight. Any other tips about talking to them at the gym aside from criticizing lifting technique and general complaints about how they're sweating too much where I'm trying to do my squat thrusts?LaurenGayle wrote:Your pants very clearly just aren't short enough.

Falling them fat helps, too. Makes them all self-conscious and needy.
