Good luck! I applied EA too. Is there any reason NOT to apply EA, since it's non-binding? I don't know why anybody would apply RD if they're early enough to do EA, unless I'm missing something.

A little off-topic, but wow, is Cornell beautiful or what? Nice picture. Good luck to all the applicants this cycle: I'll be in your shoes next fall.

Just submitted my application tonight for EA. A Cornell acceptance would be a great Christmas present.

hey! I'm EA too, I really <3 Cornell

I don't suppose anyone here has heard about people who took the Sept 2009 LSAT receiving Cornell fee waivers yet?

Submitted on Friday and got the email today saying my app has been received. Applied EA as well. If I get dinged from Chicago this would be a nice consolation.

One of my top choices. Submitted my app on the 17th. They have me listed as "applied" so I guess they are still waiting on the LSDAS materials.

No. I filled in the three lines provided on the application itself but did not write a separate essay.

There is about 5% chance of me getting an acceptance at this stage, but you never know

I submitted 3/4 page attachment, I'm bad, but probably not getting in anyway.

Another Cornell ED candidate, checking in.

Just submitted, although LSDAS is holding me up with slow transcript processing. I see no reason why I shouldn't be complete by the 15th, however.

Incidentally, I know that general admissions are rolling -- is the same true of EA and ED? That is to say, will someone who submitted their app on September 1st have an advantage over us end-of-monthers?

For what it's worth, CU is a legitimate reach for me, but not totally out of my grasp; a letter of admission from Cornell would be a wonderful Christmas gift.

Here's hoping we all have a chance to matriculate "far above Cayuga's waters" next fall.

I thought about it, but between several transcripts, multiple addendums, etc., my file's going to be thick enough as it is. The admissions officers have enough to read from me; I don't want to put them in a foul mood with superfluous materials.

Incidentally, and I apologize if this is a silly question, but what have people titled their "Why X" letters?

At the top of each letter I'm sending in to schools, I'm listing my name, LSAC # and a generalized title for the file (Personal Statement, Academic Addendum, etc.).

Is it acceptable to call "Why X" letters, for example, "Why Cornell?" I'm looking for something a little more artful. Sorry for the silly question, but any serious input would be appreciated, as a few schools (UCI, etc.) require such submissions.

As to your question regarding the Why X, I just simply titled it "Why Cornell." Maybe not artful, but direct. I think an adcomm might appreciate the direct approach when inundated with applications.

I think you have an excellent point there -- application materials should be direct, and never more so than with institution-specific documents. Simply writing "Why X" at the top of the page fits that bill. You've sold me.
