With your numbers, I'm not sure how you ended up deferred in the first place.

It's as if the first person to look at your app in the RD pool went to the dean of admissions and asked: "Uh, how did this person not get accepted EA?" The dean glanced at your file, realized that a mistake was made, and then mailed out an acceptance letter.

Still "applied"...Why even bother applying early??????? I could have gotten the same results with less stress applying late...

Completer 11/7... UR as of today. Just got the email. I have not been following this thread so I don't know if that is weird. I don't have two academic letters either. One from a professor, and one from an employer. I probably won't attend if I get in anyways (unless some big scholly).

Dear Fancy Pants,

Thank you for applying to our law school more than two months ago, barely missing our EA deadline by 2 days. We are pleased to inform you that your application is now complete and it will only be 8-12 more weeks before we decide whether or not we want to waitlist you.

Love,

Cornell

i'm thinking of calling them later in the day.. or is this normal?

Normal? Ha! Try standard procedure. I've been waiting since mid November... Complete Cornell, go complete...

Just called. I'm on "reserve" (I was an EA applicant) and will be re-reviewed in March (apparently this is not the same as the WL). Why change my status to "Decision Rendered"?

Cornell, why are you doing this to me??

b/c it is a "decision" in a way....decision to not accept you or reject you and place you into the RD pile. it'll be a while, when they say march they really mean march (going off of last year EA deferred thread). they actually seemed to let a decent number of folks in in march.

Admissions people are sick, twisted individuals who love to toy with our emotions with fake decisions. They feed off our tears and shattered dreams.

But seriously, I feel ya. Good luck.

Applied 12/28, status is "Applied." After looking at this thread, it appears I should expect it to stay that way for quite some time...

When did your status checker change to "Decision Rendered"? Also did it say you were accepted on the status checked (i.e. link to the admitted students site) or did you receive a snail mail letter? If so, what size? Haha sorry for so many questions. I'd love to go back to Cornell because that's where I did my undergrad.

I've been at "Received" since 11/20, and finally went to "Complete" this morning. Status checker says that as long as I was complete before 2/1, I will receive decision in 8-12 weeks. I assume I'm an auto-deny, so maybe it'll come sooner. On the other hand, I'm registered for the Feb. LSAT, so maybe I can slip in at the last minute with an improved score?

Rejected from Cornell? Held even though you have the numbers? Well there is now a place for you, the USS: Bitter Pessimism, TLS's second best thread for people who fail at life.

Hey all, I applied mid-December (Dec. LSAT taker), and have yet to receive a status checker. Anyone else in the same boat? Should I call the admissions office? I just find it odd that I haven't heard from them after an entire month. Thanks!
