Yeah, I thought I would get waitlisted due to YP. But I'm very happy because Penn is one of my top options.kittenmittons wrote:YPdakatz wrote:Why would you think you were going to be waitlisted? Penn may not be YPing as much as they have in past years!!
I was fully resigned to a waitlist (and bummed about it), but IN!
Stats > Penn's 75% marks

Would those with knowledge say it is a bad thing that my UR date hasn't changed since 11/3?

Subtle UConn trolling.puppins wrote: I mean it's not like NYU is so crazy better than Penn that it would be unreasonable to pick one over the other. It's not NYU vs. UConn or Cornell or anything. Even for the rankings obsessed, it's only a few spots.

It seems to me like a UR update and no news would be a bad thing, but I don't really know. I'm guessing it just means they haven't reviewed your app yet.Drew2010 wrote:Would those with knowledge say it is a bad thing that my UR date hasn't changed since 11/3?

Have any URMs who got the 12/10 update been accepted yet? Or had further change/updates to the status checker?

Yes, yield protection. It means the school doesn't believe you will attend even if accepted because you probably got into a better school. Yield affects USNWR ranking (higher is better).Shopalot86 wrote:PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Re: U Penn 2010
Rank the following plans to get a Penn phone call:
1. Submit another essay. Not really sure where to go with this; I could probably write a diversity statement, but is that penn-specific enough to even help?
2. Watch every episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on DVD, write a short statement about how this piece of art or literature inspired me to go into law.
3. Take photos of me in eagles, phillies, and flyers clothing. blow them up to 8x10s, glossy, and print an updated resume on the back. mail it to penn.
4. Call every 25 minutes or so, breathe heavily until they hang up. Eventually, breathing turns into sobs.
