Re: UCLA?
How long do schools typically keep someone on a WL? Can it be for more than one cycle? I would ideally want an answer from a school by January if I apply after the October LSAT's this year so that I can jump at other opportunities.

Wait up... there's an ASD on the 18th? That's a Sunday... do they do that? That would make my life sooooo much easier (if I even get in...)autarkh wrote:I wonder if they intend to admit anyone else prior to the 4/18 ASD.
For the love of all things holy, I just want to KNOW so I can start making decisions. Been complete since late Jan., though from what I've read, that's not nearly as bad as some people. I guess I shouldn't complain.

Well congrats on getting admitted! (That's the first hurdle I have to clear before going to an ASD...heh.)itsirtou wrote:Yep, there's one on the 18th! What's the timing of the 4/18 day? Is it a whole day thing? Just morning? Just evening? Reception only?
(Sorry, I'm just baffled by the idea of doing this on a Sunday.)

It's a good a day as any -- and better than most if you consider how horrendous traffic can be around UCLA during the week. Also, no need to take off work.tonkatruck wrote: (Sorry, I'm just baffled by the idea of doing this on a Sunday.)
I'll gladly be "inconvenienced" if the see fit to admit me. =)

Re: UCLA?
I meant to imply no inconvenience, I just haven't heard of any other school doing a Sunday ASD. Or at least none that want me, lol.
It's actually a lot easier for me to do Sunday seeing has how I haven't told my work I may be leaving them for Law School in a few months, and there's only so many times I can call in sick before they start to wonder...

Re: UCLA?
I have the schedule at home, but basically it starts in the morning, there is a barbecue (I think) for lunch that included meet and greet with faculty/students and then there's various prescheduled events going until 4PM or maybe slightly later, although not 100% sure about exact times. The last ASD was on a weekday, and I had to leave work 2 hours early to get there on time, so I vastly prefer the Sunday, although Saturday would have been just as good.tonkatruck wrote:Well congrats on getting admitted! As far as being hopeful, people are still getting in, so yes, be hopeful!

I'll second that.autarkh wrote:The only alternative is abject despair. So I'll take hope, however naive and ill-conceived.macaulian wrote:So should those who havent been WLed or Dinged yet be hopeful?

Re: UCLA?
Though there is a WL thread..it's pretty inactive, so I thought I'd ask my question here. Any input/advice is greatly appreciated...
I was waitlisted back in December (ED) with a low LSAT score. Some people have told me that I was probably WLed because the adcom was waiting to see if I retook the LSAT. I'm signed up to retake in June and am confident I'll do better, but I need to find some way to actually stay on the waitlist/not get rejected before scores come out. I know that officially schools don't look at WLers' June LSAT scores (at least that's what I've been told), but do you guys think it would be appropriate for me to send a LOCI mentioning that I'll be retaking in June and hope they'll hold off on my app until then?

Re: UCLA?
I dont' see how it can hurt. Another option if you're worried is just inform them you're taking the june test and see what they do? If it's true that some schools unofficially look at another LSAT during the summer waitlist (makes sense to me), they'll hold your app, especially if you also say how UCLA is a top choice.msch0i wrote:Though there is a WL thread..it's pretty inactive, so I thought I'd ask my question here.
