Interesting. . I believe I received the exact same response word for word. On a side note, I am attending, despite the lack of change to my scholarship package.

Can anyone who has visited and met with a dean tell me what women seemed to be wearing? I'm meeting with Dean Wixson next week and I don't want to get it wrong on first impressions, looking the part, etc.

If I only knew how they evaluate schollie increase requests... People with the same stats get either dinged or appeased. Anyways, same situation here, I live in Richmond, married, living in a house I own, so I am not moving. Subsequently, my top options were UVA and W&M, and now it is just W&M (or retaking LSAT and joining class of '14 pool)...

Sending my deposit today. Sorry, waitlisters and good luck.

I wish I could say I bought that. . . my guess is it is closer to 0% - 3%. They have my seat deposit, why give money to someone committed when they can use it to entice off the WL?

well, it appears that they are not firmly committed to commercialized law school model common today among "cash cow" law schools at other universities. plus, they should probably expect people on WL to be happy to get in at sticker.
Finally, this year with its 6300 applications (vs 4900 last year, 4500 the year before) WL might not happen, like it did not happen at UVA last year (and they only had like 8% increase in applications...)

This is all true. I will throw my faith in the basket with you. Here is to hoping, don't let my pessimistic attitude stagnate your belief that more money may come your way. Have you already sent in a seat deposit?

I am not saying that we will be getting money, but I do think we have a chance greater than 3% - probably around 25% on average based on Faye's words alone (which could also be interpreted that we have 0.0000000001% chance, lol).

I am about to start my .6 mile walk to the post office for exercise and drop the deposit in 10 minutes or so.

I'm not going to William & Mary, but I have to say that I am kind of jealous of you guys. I got in with a scholarship and everything, but I decided to attend elsewhere. I'm in Williamsburg for the first time right now, though, and I am quite impressed with the place. So to all of you who are heading off to W&M next year, good job!

IUB gave you full ride, and W&M did not budge past half tuition, huh

IIRC W&M has an April 15th or May 1st deadline, so they wouldn't have any reason to use the waitlist until after that point at least. May+ seems to be the trend, with a lot of activity in June. Not sure how it typically plays out at W&M though.

I really want to get in off the WL. To echo Vincent's sentiments, it really is a great place, and has exactly the sort of feel I'm seeking for 3 years of hitting the books. 8) Hopefully I'll be heading out to Williamsburg sooner rather than later to find a place to live. :D

I didn't try to negotiate. W&M wasn't one of my top schools since my target for employment is the midwest. If I was more attracted to DC or the southeast, though, I would have definitely have looked more seriously into attending. If I knew three months ago what I know now, it probably would have been a different scenario, though.

I don't want to be one of those people who harps on the rankings, but I have to say that I feel even more validated in my choice to come to WM this fall! All of the other schools I was considering dropped (and some quite significantly) except us. Woo!
