Online status checker changed today to "Congratulations! Your admission letter has been mailed."

W00t!

My wife already has a UTK undergrad degree so if we end up back in Big Orange Country that's OK for sure :D

Congrats! I wish all of the schools changed to that on the status checker instead of just "Decision Made"

Congrats on the acceptance! I'm going to send in my application tomorrow. If I might ask DNAgent, what are your stats?

Those that have been accepted...

Did you write something specifically on UT in your personal statement (i.e. "Why UT?")? And/or did you do that in the essay?

My friend that is a 2L at UT now (both his parents went to UT Law, and he was obviously in state) was waitlisted with those same stats and was headed to Memphis until UT called him in June and told him he was in at UT. You have a good shot though, just expect a WL.

your friend was an in state resident, had alumni connections, a 3.6 and a 160 and he was waitlisted at Tennessee??? I find that very odd. Did he apply super late or something?

Honestly I found it odd too. He is the type that could have inflated his LSAT a bit to save his ego, so that is the more likely scenario. That is the only way I see it happening. He didn't really apply all that late (January).

Lol I hope you're right about him inflating his numbers. I am already worried enough about getting in with a 3.0 and 162. I am in state, but I definitely don't have any alumni connections. I guess I'll just have to see.

Thanks movieguru873! I'm a non-traditional splitter, 168/2.7. Got my physical letter in the mail today!

Anyone out there watching the UT/SC game? The black and orange jerseys are awesome!

Are you in-state? And when did you go complete if you don't mind my asking.

I am waiting for one more letter of rec to be in for my app to be complete. I went to UT as an undergrad and it is my top choice for law school. I had a 3.79 GPA but LSAC turned it into a 3.49! Yuck. Anyway, what do you all think my chances are with a 3.49/160 and decent softs (masters degree, lived in England as an international student, international research experience, excellent rec's, etc). I'm worried that my GPA is no longer competitive...any thoughts? I want UT!!

I'm out-of-state [NC], but my wife is a UT alumna. Went complete Oct 1st.

Anyone heard anything from Tenn. lately? From LSN, it looks like they haven't admitted anyone in a while

I haven't heard anything yet. They've had the same three dots up on LSN for about a month.

In at TN. I got my acceptance kind of informally though. I apparently made a good enough impression where they just typed up the acceptance letter while I was showed around on a tour. They handed it to me on my way out. Kind of endearing if you ask me. Numbers in profile btw.

Hey Vandal, you might not have looked, but have they updated your status checker?

3.6/160. Went to Tulane undergrad but I'm in state (from Nashville). My status checker did not change, but I got a phone call from their admissions department. The woman said that the snail mail letter of acceptance was on the way

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
