Hopefully they are sending out the decisions in the mail today so we have a chance of hearing back before Christmas.

Me too, decision finalized 12/21. Received Rotham couple of weeks ago as well. Awww I hope it's an acceptance!! Do you guys think they would send out rejections??
Also, I'm abroad till mid January, so can't check my mail- you think they'd give me my decision over the phone or via e-mail upon request???

perhaps if you sent them your LSAC number and explained the situation via email. i'm almost positive they won't over the phone...they wouldn't even tell me if i was complete over the phone.

if this makes anyone feel better- based on LSN, the decisions for last year right before Christmas (12/20 and 12/22) were all acceptances, following a trend of all acceptances since the first that year. It seems the vast majority of these people also had good $$

Could be a very merry Christmas for us

Status changed as well.

On a separate note, I would reeeeeally like to get the Rothman scholarship, so

"Will all the peeps with 170's please withdraw, please withdraw.

Decision finalized 12/21. I should receive it soon, since I'm in California although not in LA.

managamy, I hope you don't mind this question- are you actually still considering USC after you've received acceptances from some higher ranked schools already? Just wondering if maybe there's something about USC great enough to attract a student like you :) EDIT: despite the lure of big names

The long answer is that I take pleasure in all of my acceptances on an individual level as validations of my hard-earned undergraduate achievements. Also, USC has excellent media / graphic design in the publications and invitations that they have sent me thus far, so I would like to see how they have constructed their packet. Finally, I always enjoy acceptances from schools in California, since it's my favorite place in the world.

The short answer is no.

EDIT: If it were a top 6 or 8 or even 10, however, I would consider it very, very seriously, since I want to spend my career in Southern California. I'm not just going by the rankings in my choices. But you can't turn down any of my 3 top-5 acceptances for a non-t14.

IN!!!!! I'm pretty excited, so happy to have a school in LA!!

I received my decision over the phone, but there's a story to this, since they normally don't do that. I had called them a while ago after I received the Rothman package, and they told me to expect a decision in about 2 weeks, and upon telling them I wouldn't be abroad until mid-January, they told me to send an email with that info to add to my file- so they knew I was gonna be abroad, which allowed them to make an exception (lady on the phone still had to check with the dean). Just sayin', they specifically told me that under any other circumstance they would not release decisions via phone. Honestly tho, you guys should be really optimistic based on LSN and they did say they'll send out letters tomorrow or so.

I'm still under review(as of 12/16).

For someone dramatically under the preferred scores, it's probably a better sign than if I had gotten a quick decision... but I'm still not holding my breath for an exciting decision.

actually, looking at last years, if you receive a decision early on, it meant they were acceptances. If you get it late then it can either mean a rejection or acceptance. But if you got a decision within a month that would have been for the best.

Does anyone know if notifications are done my mail, email, etc?
I am also decision finalized today and believe decisions are done by mail.
You've both probably posted this before, but when did you go "In Review"?

Decision finalized 12/21 for me too. Also a Rothman invitee. I'm in LA so hopefully I'll get mine soon, although I'm out of town tomorrow. Exciting to finally hear back from my alma mater!

In Review as of today, eeeeeeee! USC is pretty much my top realistic pick, so I am super excited to see what happens here. Too bad I'm away from my temp address until January 7th. I want a decision, but I hate that if it comes soon I'll still have to wait.

Does anyone know what the hell the Rothman essay is supposed to be about? I wrote a personal statement for a reason!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
