3/19 Waitlist via status checker. USC was my undergrad so maybe they just wanted to give me a nicer rejection :/

Are you honestly asking if they're giving someone over double the cost of tuition in scholarship money?HkSyed wrote:That is 92k a year? when you guys are saying how much your getting is that like an award or are you including stafford subsidized and unsubsidized loans.

That is why I was a bit confused, he doesn't have his stats listed so maybe it was a bit of aggressive recruiting. That does not answer my question though. Is that figure merely financial awards or does it include stafford loans.mctj wrote:Are you honestly asking if they're giving someone over double the cost of tuition in scholarship money?HkSyed wrote:That is 92k a year? when you guys are saying how much your getting is that like an award or are you including stafford subsidized and unsubsidized loans.

I'm guessing total merit aid over 3 years.HkSyed wrote:That is why I was a bit confused, he doesn't have his stats listed so maybe it was a bit of aggressive recruiting. Re: USC 2010!
Last week I got the letter telling me I am not a Rothman finalist. Today I got a letter (in a much bigger envelope) telling me that I got $90k over three years! Wow!
The scholly comes with two conditions:
1. Must reserve scholarship in writing by April 15th, otherwise it will go to another admitted student. This is non-binding.
2. Must withdraw from all schools you have been admitted to (not waitlisted) by May 1st. If they see that you have put seat deposits at other schools after May 1st, scholarship offer will be revoked.

Re: USC 2010!
LSAC collects seat deposit information from the schools, and they then share that information with the other schools.jonnodotsg wrote:Not that I intend to try, since USC is my first choice, but how do schools find out that you've placed seat deposits at other schools?
I think you could technically put down a seat deposit for a different school (for example, WUSTL has a ridiculous 4/1 deadline), but you would have to withdraw that application before 5/1. After 5/1, the schools send the info to LSAC.

So the consensus is that if you went DF today, you're getting rejected? If you get WL, status checker says WL instead?

Re: USC 2010!
I'd rather have a wet blanket now and be pleasantly mistaken later than to get my hopes up over the weekend only to have them dashed on Monday. I'm a splitter (above their 75th LSAT, below their 25th GPA), so I'm not terribly surprised.jonnodotsg wrote:I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I think the 3/19 DF being a rejection is a pretty fair assumption. As for the WL, it seems that most people find out via status checker, though some have mentioned that they received an actual snail mail.autarkh wrote:So the consensus is that if you went DF today, you're getting rejected? Also: it's a foregone conclusion that no one was outright accepted in this batch, right?

So DF is pretty much a denial (likely) or an acceptance. I better compose a quick prayer to my noodly master.

And if you're still just "Complete", then you can expect your auto-reject letter in about 2-3 weeks?autarkh wrote:So the consensus is that if you went DF today, you're getting rejected? If you get WL, status checker says WL instead?

This is one of my last holdouts, this and Boston University and Cornell, if all three reject me, then I guess I'm going to George Washington or Fordham.
