Here's to spending the next hour barfing everytime I get a new email. Anyone else feel like drinking heavily and avoiding computers for awhile? Unfortunately I'm ni no position to do either...
I can relate, although I believe that I have finally achieved a Zen-like calm about the whole thing.

Means nothing. My complete date changed twice since going complete in November. Others have reported similar behavior. In most cases, the update isn't followed by anything exciting.

Any advice for my interview tomorrow? I'm guessing I should wear a suit, right?

Wear a suit, but put it on backwards and say you were born with an ordinarily debilitating condition where your head is backwards, but that you fought and perservered and made it through college despite being an abhorrent freak. Then write your personal statement/diversity essay on this subject and your interviewer will be able to corroborate.

rideaway wrote:I've never been a big poster on these forums - generally someone has already posted any information I might be looking for - but I did have one question I could use some input on. Northwestern is my first choice and I submitted my application (and was complete) back on 11/5/09. My numbers are 167/2.96 (Non-URM), making me a long shot I know, but there are some other elements in my application that I have to imagine will be well received by the committee (i.e. I have 6 years real-world experience post-undergrad including a book on international relations I authored that was published by St. Martin's Press and used in several grad school programs, a non-profit organization I founded, and oddly enough, an alt-rock band I started and led to a major label record deal).

Combined with a GPA-addendum, I've had some unexpected results so far this cycle but have yet to hear anything from Northwestern. To come to the point: it seems as though other schools have been willing to swallow my subpar GPA in light of my other qualifications (i.e. UCAL, BC, BU, all of which I was sure would reject me), but obviously my LSAT score is also well below NW's median. If I thought I could get my LSAT up to a 170+ on a June retake, would it be worth writing to the admissions committee expressing that possibility?

And will it be too late to propose such a strategy if I wait until a possible rejection letter arrives (I can't imagine it will be much longer before some decision is rendered with my application date)?

Any advice would be VERY much appreciated - feel free to PM me if you have some insight on this.

Thanks, and I hope this isn't a bother...
NU will consider a late retake.

This is great advice. Unfortunately, the weather might be a little cool in Chicago for this to work. As an alternative, I suggest snowpants and goggles, with a poncho and possibly some water-proof boots. Also be sure to wear a coon-skin cap, as it will tie your outfit together nicely. One more point of advice: members of the admissions committee prefer hugs to handshakes. And bring some glue sticks along with the rest of your supplies.

Actually it is pretty nice in Chicago today (nice being upper 30's and sunny), so I think the jean shorts and v-neck would've worked...

That's not bad at all... When I moved to the Mountain West from Chicago, I didn't bring my heavy winter clothes...

You'll freeze your butt off in Chicago then! It gets into the negatives quite often.
