I'm pretty sure they use snail mail. Last year a lot of people reported a huge delay (2-3 weeks) between the date on their acceptance letters and the date they received them. I wonder if that will be the case for this year as well.
I'm based abroad, so I'm prepared for a loooonggg wait! Hoping they're considerate like Gtown and Michigan and use a courier service instead....:)

So when LSN says there was a large batch of acceptances on 12/10 last year, does that mean that is when people received their letters, or is that when the letters were postmarked?
That's when the letters were postmarked. Most people received their acceptances some time after those dates.

I'm with the guy who asked about when they start sending the final decisions! I want to know. Wouldn't it be a great Christmas gift if Santa put an acceptance under the tree? (or even better if he put it under the tree significantly sooner than Christmas?) (or Hanukah, Kwanza, etc..)

+1. NYU explicitly says on their website that they don't have time for it.

Try calling them. I also applied early November. After having heard back from every other school, I called them about 2 weeks after I submitted. The nice lady on the phone told me I was complete and I got a complete email basically the next day. I never got any 'we received your application' email.

Makes sense. Harvard, Columbia, Chicago, Michigan, Penn, UVA, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, and GULC have all the time in the world.

If it's taking forever for me to go complete, do you think I actually need to call or just wait it out until they sort it out? I'm not really a phone person, unless the person on the other end is giving me an acceptance of some sort.

Can you apply for scholarships after you've already submitted your application?

i submitted late october and got my app received email 11/3. i'm not too concerned about not getting the complete email. i bet we are complete, and i don't want to bother the apparently 2 people who work in the office.

fyi, looking at lsn, last year was an anomalous year. in previous years, letters were postmarked 12/3-12/5 and so received early december. both RD and ED.

i do what i can to heighten the anxiety. start checking mailboxes! and good luck!

Doesn't USPS have a form for temporarily forwarding all mail to a new address?
