If I get wait listed, I'm going to withdraw and probably try again next year assuming I get the same from NYU at this point.

Was just wondering if this was standard or not on reserve letters.

Nope! Apparently you are a preferred candidate--congratsnycgaga wrote:Did anyone else get a handwritten note to the effect of "Please keep us updated on your status as the spring/summer progresses" ?

Ha, because somebody with one post is engaging in guerilla waitlist tactics? Nah. Ride that baby (or at least withdraw for better reason than this).Jericwithers wrote:But the bait tastes so good Should I not withdraw then?clintonius wrote:Jericwithers wrote:Promptly withdrawing.clintonius wrote:Don't take the bait, people...
I give props to that 1 poster because those tactics almost worked on me. I probably wouldn't take Columbia off the waitlist in June/July though I would like to see if I make it just for ego inflation purposes. Probably not a good enough reason to take someone's spot though (even though it wouldn't hurt anyone) so I probably will not take the reserve offer. Same goes for NYU, NU, and I will probably withdraw from all my other waitlists too (besides Harvard if I get it).clintonius wrote:Ha, because somebody with one post is engaging in guerilla waitlist tactics? Bummer. I'm sorry to hear that. Are you in anywhere else?Jericwithers wrote: EDIT # 2: Not sure if I should stay on the CLS waitlist now or not since Harvard has crushed my dream.
Duke is my best acceptance. I find it odd that the only schools I got into are ones that gave me 1/2 tuition scholarships or more, but I am not complaining lolZ3RO wrote:Bummer. I haven't heard anything yet either. I applied back in December 09.100Kworthit? wrote:Hmmm applied Nov 28 2009. Got asked to update information mid Jan / early Feb. No word at ALL since ....
Don't know if I should wait until the 30th or if I should email them to assure it hasn't been lost in the mail, has anyone else not heard anything back yet?
haha, well I don't feel so sympathetic anymore. 1/2 tuition at Duke is golden.Jericwithers wrote:Duke is my best acceptance. I can understand that, so you decided on NYU right assuming the worst from all the schools still left?Z3RO wrote:haha, well I don't feel so sympathetic anymore. 1/2 tuition at Duke is golden.Jericwithers wrote:Duke is my best acceptance. Assuming the worst of what's left, I don't get in anywhere and reapply next year. I've decided that if I'm not in anywhere by the end of the month, that it's no longer really feasible for me to move with my girlfriend, so I'll withdraw and apply next year.Jericwithers wrote: I can understand that, so you decided on NYU right assuming the worst from all the schools still left?
NOOOOOOO!!!!! Don't do it (or if you do, make sure you have the money to upgrade that turd of a video card)!Z3RO wrote:Assuming the worst of what's left, I don't get in anywhere and reapply next year. If/when that happens, I'm going to cheer myself up by buying this:

So I won't be too broken up over it.
haha. It doesn't seem THAT bad. I can always upgrade later. Do you have any suggestions? Are you Nvidia troll?clintonius wrote:NOOOOOOO!!!!!
