Congrats!! I thought they guaranteed a 10-day turnaround for PT applications?
I'm curious about this as well. Did you come in from PR? Or was this because of that D during your fall semester?

This thread's been quiet today. Calm before the storm, or yet another day without major movement?

I did. I was accepted, but I think I am going to withdraw.

Good luck! I'll be doing this soon - I'm hoping to get into Chicago (and praying for some $$) to have something else to add to my letter.
How'd you format it?

Quoting myself:
yeast master wrote:Scholarship decision mailed today. They received my application 1/26. Looks like they really will get to all the pre-Feb applications before the end of the month. Impressive. Duke definitely has the best admissions process of the schools I applied to.

Based on my numbers I can't expect too much dough, but I should be a good test for how much need factors into the decision. I'm a grad student, first generation college grad, have three kids, grew up poor, parents are still poor, and already have a lot of student debt (wo is me!). If I get more than $45k, I'd have to believe that need was a major factor.

I hope I don't get $0.
$48k today. Doesn't seem like I got much of a need-based boost. Not too surprising.

Ya I think need has only accounted for like $6k at most for anyone.

:\ They lost my form. Sent it in November, but they never matched it up to my file. Would not have known at all had I not been on TLS. So I sent it again, and received a confirmation email but still nothing on my status checker about the form being received. :\ I wonder if this will affect anything.

Quick question for anyone with ideas:

I've been under review for a month. I know other people have been longer, but many with my numbers (in my profile), according to LSN, have already been wait-listed (in batches), despite applying at similar times. I wrote a Why Duke, and an addendum for the dual-degree program I am applying to. I think they were good, but I don't know if they were enough to put me over the edge. Is it more likely that they're still considering my application, or that I was just thrown into a different pile (and put off) because I applied for a dual-degree program?

Thank you in advance!

They probably sent your application to the other degree's department to have it looked at.

That makes sense. I wasn't sure if the other department had to look at it or not, because they don't have you apply to the department directly (for the MA/MS), like they do with the dual-PhD programs.

If that's the case, do you think it's a good thing? Would they have sent me to the other department to be looked at if they intend on wait-listing me?

Well, they COULD have sent it to the other department even if they were going to wait-list you. Maybe they want to know if the other department suggests rejection or something. But it's only speculation that they sent it to another department. Maybe they genuinely haven't gotten to yours yet?

In as of an email 10 minutes ago. I hadn't been paying that much attention to this thread so I was really surprised to get the email on a Sunday. Excited to send in the scholarship form when it arrives.

Oh, I wrote a Why Duke, mostly about their strong public policy program and semester in DC program.

Congrats. Same-ish 'Why Duke' here. I guess they like those types of why dukes lol. You don't have to wait for the acceptance package to arrive; print the scholarship form online and send it in ASAP. Good luck.

Just got the waitlist email, again(was waitlisted last year). Hoping this year Duke opens up a spot for me.

Sorry to hear that. What are your numbers? Would you mind pming me? I have a feeling my WL or ding is coming soon after a less than stellar 1 point increase in the Feb LSAT (they've been holding my file).
