I met yesterday with Dean Brown (super nice guy by the way) and he said the same: it is frustrating times for them as well as half of the accepted students have double deposited. People, please take a decision! He also mentioned that next week they will have a better idea what are the chances on the waitlist.

It is crazy that half of the accepted students have double deposited.

I know that there are many guys double depositing. I just didn't expect that much.

Maybe it is just figuratively speaking, otherwise, most of us waitlistees will get accepted. I will pray for that. :)

Forgive my ignorance, but how do they know who has double deposited? I submitted a full deposit to one of the schools I was accepted to early on but intend to withdraw as soon as I get some financial aid info from Fordham.

Have any of the other students admitted this month received anything beyond the acceptance letter and spiral notebook?

It will be good news if it is really true that half of people who paid first deposit had deposited somewhere else and possibly would choose another school instead of Fordham.

Good luck! I think BC is pretty good.

LSAC will give out a list. But I don't know if it is only the number of people who double deposited or the actual names.

It's not through the LSAC but there is a service which the schools all send the names of who deposited where and they distribute the list to all schools to let them know who has double deposited. And yes they have names. Someone at LSAC gave me this info.

That is interesting; I wonder what company it is. More so, I wonder how much they charge to host this mutual "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" party.

Thanks. Dean Brown did mentioned that NYU would kick out anyone who did that. Apparently NYU has to have names to do that. But he said Fordham would not do that.

Why would they kick out ppl who've double deposited? Isn't it your right to deposit and keep a seat at least until the next deposit, when you can just withdraw or not deposit? I don't understand what their excuse for kicking them out would be.

I've never heard of a school kicking people out for that without warning but maybe it's stipulated in their deposit form. Anyway, I guess NYU can afford to do that.

:D :D That's exactly Dean Brown said regarding the double deposit. Then, he said Fordham cannot and will not do that.

I used to be in love with NYU, but now I think they're pretty cocky for nothing and most of their student body acts that way too. One of my Kaplan instructors was from NYU Law and one night he asked us to leave the class earlier because he had "real law school stuff to deal with." Jerks.

Well hopefully the double deposit situation will open up more space at Fordham soon.

Yeah. Really hope so. Are you waitlisted too?

Maybe I should just quit being an a-hole and withdraw from my other school already...

I'm just cautious about shooting myself in the foot with Fordham since I really haven't received much info from them. I sent in the full seat deposit about 10 days ago and haven't seen any action in my bank account or heard anything back. I don't even know when my deadline is. :?

I can't believe NYU would give those folks the boot. I'd understand if it was a matter of not meeting deposit deadlines, but, seriously?

Possibly beginning tomorrow with the moving of the waitlist. Whoever misses the deposit deadline today will probably be dropped so the waitlist can then move forward. This is all very "iffy" though.

the payments are suppose to be postmarked by June 1. That means it will take about a week longer for fordham to process all that and another week for them to review the WL.

I wouldnt expect to hear anytihng soon.

Nope. I just called the office and they said that the deposit has to be in their hands today, not postmarked by June 1. That's why I got a bit excited and commented on here today! :D
