12/16/08 File complete and with ADCOM for review...01/26/09 ADCOM status blank...Decision on the way, anyone else?

I'm still on App Received (as of Jan 14th). When did you apply?

i heard back from hofstra a couple weeks ago...my file was complete in mid november

From what I heard on this board the status checker going blank after "File with Admissions Committee" means that they have reached a decision. Someone called Hofstra at one point to confirm and was told that it might take up to 2 weeks to receive the decision in mail after the status checker goes blank. GLuck!

Mine went blank on 1/15 (had been in review since 12/3). By coincidence (?) had emailed Hofstra the day before to find out my status. Was told I would hear within two weeks via snail mail - which would be 1/29. Ever hopeful this is so.

Blank usually means you got in I believe.

I called the admissions office today to settle this because I, too, have had a blank status for a few weeks. Blank status means that they're mailing out your admissions decision. Mine has been blank for a few weeks and I asked about that--they said it was "waiting to be sent," probably because of FinAid/Scholly reasons (not to be cocky). Good luck!!

I hope your right Jwatson my file was with adcomm since 12/1 until about 5 days ago when it went blank..I did notice when i got rejected from a different school that uses the lsac status checker (same user name even) that it said denied several days before I got my rejection.

It said admission denied...
Speaking of hofstra did anyone else get a packet on family law scholarships/summer stipends? I found it interesting that they sent me it bc I didn't mark family law as one of my areas of interest.

I received it as well, and did in fact mark family law as a field of interest along with "children's rights". I called and asked, and they said the children's advocacy fellowship apps get sent out to everyone.

I was actually talking specifically about the Hofstra status checker. I know that some schools say denied, refused admission, rejected, etc. My question was whether the Hofstra status checker would tell you that you were denied? From what it looks like it just goes blank and then you receive your decision in mail within 2 weeks or so. I just asked a couple of people on LSN who have already received their rejections so let's see what they say.

Some schools use the same status checker and if that is the case then they should have the same type of response.

can anyone confirm that if status checker is blank you get in, or if you get rejected the status checker tells you this?

My status just changed from application received (or complete?) to: File pending committee review. Does this mean it's with the committee now or they're going to look at it soon?

Mine was "File Pending Committee" for about 2 days before it changed to "File with Admissions Committee."

I never got a status check and i got accepted within two weeks of file completion. And no, my numbers are no where near for a school like hofstra to send me an acceptance right away. I think it was my ps, The dean really liked my personal statement, she wrote me a hand written note about it.. I thought that was nice, unless she did that to everyone

Yesterday I went from app received or whatever straight to file w/ admissions committee. Hopefully I'll get some good news soon!

Mine went blank today. I'll post results once I get them!
