You are the kind of person the dream team at Irvine is waiting for.
I hope you end up there!

at that ratio, all the accepted applicants must attend uci for the class to be full...
i hope this is not the case.

Would someone be as so kind to share the e-mail UC Irvine sent when your application was complete? It's been nearly 3 weeks now and I know that's nothing for the school's application process, but I just want to be aware of what I should be expecting.
Thanks.

To those who have been accepted:
Have they mentioned anything about a deposit? Any idea on how they will try to maintain a good yield?

They won't care about the yield for the inaugural class. They are not being ranked after all.
LSAT- GPA will help their inaugural "class profile" but they are most definitely not listing their yield.

Yield indicates more than a USNEWs ranking. They are financing tuition for 60 spots... so they need to make sure the ratio (#students accepting offers) / (#total offers) .. in other words "yield"...is something predictable otherwise their class will be too small or too large.

What I am saying is that they don't need to protect their yield in any way.

Well I've been trolling for awhile now, especially on this thread. Looking at all the people who have been accepted to UCI on LSN, all but 1 have applied almost solely to Cali schools.
Either they are mostly Cali residents or UCI is using the info we give to them on our other law school applications and calculating our chance of attending UCI based on them.

oh you think? I would go there in a second, but I am way off the range shown on LSN?

Has anyone noticed that a big majority of people in at UCI seem to be "nontraditional applicants?"

I mentioned this earlier and being got offended becuase they thought i was calling them 'old'
. I guess only more mature people... and not striver UG seniors... can realize what UCI has to offer.

as per lsn, there are now 8 accepted applicants...using a 10:1 ratio that means they have accepted about 80 people.
what do u guys think?

I think its more that non-trads might be more willing to accept the 100,000 scholly over debt at a T25 because of family and geographical situations. Suck up the vulnerable population before digging into the indecisive youth.

I heard from someone (who heard from someone) that as of Friday, UCI had admitted 20 students. I'm not sure if that's 100% verifiable, but the person who told me has no reason to spread lies.
As for whether I'll be going... we're going to take a looksee at Irvine this weekend, see how it feels.
And for all you young whippersnappers, don't fret-- I'm sure there are plenty of schools looking for "traditional" students without mortgages, spouses, and children.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
