Nope mine still says "held for further review."
i'm right there with y'all. did y'all apply FT and PT? I only did FT, but am now thinking that may have been a mistake. I'm 159 with 3.75, but excellent recs and Dallas ties.
Yep I applied FT and PT. And yeah you could always call and ask them to switch if it's not too late.

Well, if you don't want to go, I'll take that scholarship off your hands!
Anyone going to ASD on March 30th?

I, too, will probably be at the ASD on March 30th. I would also be interested to hear about how the first one went. Anybody that went care to share a report?

Dammit.. I think that is right. If so, it is the one I will be at. As a matter of fact, I know it is right now that I think about it. So yeah, I will be at the 3/20 ASD.
Drat. I won't be able to make it until the April date. I had hoped to meet up with both of you there as I feel like I know you from these boards. Alas, my wife and I will be in San Antonio that weekend for our anniversary. Can't feel too bad, though, we have a date with Elton John & Billy Joel for their Face 2 Face tour!

I'll be at the 3/20 ASD. I saw the first one on campus a few weeks ago. I had forgotten about the first date.

Nothing says we can't meet up at a Starbucks for coffee or at the SMU bookstore to buy matching SMU LAW t-shirts...
I'm actually not sure if I will be able to make the 20th. Might have to attend the next one offered depending on my work schedule.

Thanks, and congrats on yours! This is our 6th, so we're not too far behind.
Coffee I can handle, matching shirts not so much.

Just in case anyone is wondering...
I spoke with admissions today and they said that just because you have not recieved a scholarship notification yet, does not mean you will not recieve one. They are still reviewing a bunch of applicants for scholarships and more will be given out after the first round of seat deposits are put down.

I am definitely interested. My availability will depend on the time/date, though - as I live in Norman.
Count me in as interested in meeting up if you guys are thinking about the April ASD - though it's not a sure thing yet. The wife and I have only lasted 4+ years, so we still have to check with each other about such things
If it involves coffee, though, I might just make it happen....

I have been complete for some time now. Is there an "under review" status at SMU? I know for some schools I have gone straight from complete to a decision. Thank you to anybody who is wiling to help.

I sure hope we hear sooner than after the first seat deposits are due because I cannot hold out on the possibility of getting a good scholarship at SMU while letting other schools' deadlines pass by!

wait if the deposit is due April 1st, why have so many of us not heard yet? I'm still "complete" from 1/9...
should we be worried about them filling the class already?

I have a question to those of you who were accepted!
Did you guys ever "take a guided tour" of the campus or anything of that nature? and If so, do you guys feel like it may have helped you get admitted??? I've already visited the school a few times for random things but never officially for a tour by the law school itself, and I wanna know if it is something useful.

I've never even seen the campus - so obviously I'm of no help. Sorry!

I got the call from SMU a few weeks ago and was anxious to hear about scholarship money so I called them. They told me I would know in the next two weeks. Today, I got a letter that I am up for the Sumner, yay! (full tuition/fees). Just call the office and they'll let you know about money or not.

I applied to SMU on 11/05/08 (3.95/170). As of 3/6/09, I have still not received any indicatintion of acceptance / rejection. I am very interested in attending SMU, but have strongly considered withdrawing my application. I figure that since I paid the $70 some odd dollars to apply, I might as well find out the results anyways.
Revised on 3-8-09.
