you could ask to be considered for both ft and pt.
Don't do that! I applied ED to only SMU's Part-Time program, then after a little while I panic'ed and asked them to change it to FT/PT with my preference being PT. I ended up getting "held for further review" because SMU neglected to tell me that regardless of preference, the protocol is that the application goes to the FT adcomm first and a decision is made, then it goes to the PT adcomm after that. So the FT adcomm deferred me and it never got to the PT committee for early decision, so now i'm stuck in limbo for a little while longer.
yeah but dmneece would be the opposite...he/she applied full-time so is already going through the ft review regardlesss. i would think if that doesnt work out they will send it over for pt review (if he/she requests) rather than going right to sending a rejection letter. (let's hope it doesnt get to that though!) just my two cents...it can't hurt to call and ask or set up an appointment if you havent been to visit yet. these are the things the staff is for!

Not yet, but in my call she said the packets would mail "by Monday", so they may not even have been mailed yet.

My call said they mailed out on Friday. But, I can tell you, I stopped by the admissions office today and there was a huge box of big white packets in a mail carrying box. Not sure if those were part time packets, or more full time packets, or what they were. I wasn't in there long enough to ask.

On a side note, anybody have an idea as to just how many people were accepted in the ED batch? I'm not under the illusion that every person accepted has a profile here or on LSN, so I'm wondering how many may have been in this first grouping. Thoughts?

I was rejected for full-time a couple days ago. Is it still possible to be considered for PT after being rejected for FT?

Received my packet today! Evidently it had a rough journey as it was torn and closed with tape. Glad to have it, though!

Geez...I wonder what they did to our poor packets? Somebody in the office must have had a bad day.

Mine arrived in good condition - I was impressed with the contents as well. The housing info is especially helpful.

I like how honest the student comments are about on-campus residences, "...it's pretty ugly and there isn't a pool."

Haven't heard anything yet. But, I'm not expecting anything until the end of next week at the earliest. They said three weeks when they called with congrats on Jan 30, so Feb 20 would be about that time...

Does anyone know when invitations for Sumners scholarship interviews are typically received?

Yes, the deadline is Feb 15th. I didn't know there were interviews either until I saw something about them in the Sumners brochure that came in the admission packet. That made me especially interested in the timeline for the process since in theory you would know if you had a chance at a Sumners a while before the decisions are final. I also have no idea (and was wondering) when the Sumners scholarships are actually offered to the recipients. I'm hoping it isn't as late as late April or May since that doesn't give you much time to factor that into the decision to attend or not.
