Harvard waitlist

Well, this was the final result...now my batting record officially has ended at:
(3, 1, 2) = (accept, reject, waitlist)

I suppose 50% isn't that bad. Anyone else get the waitlist notification today? (It was by email with no phone calls...I'm sure that would have been the next question.)

Im "worried" Im going to be one of the few people WL at Yale but straight out rejected at Harvard (id like a WL, thats all...).

Thanks for answering my slightly rude question.
Well, congrats on the Harvard wl. I heard, unlike the Yale wl, Harvard's list actually does move. GOOD LUCK!! :D

I was deferred back in Feb from Harvard, but I got a new phone number and haven't received an email since the deferral email. In it, they said that if I don't hear anything by mid-April, that I 'should consider' other schools. So its mid-April and I'm still waiting...

Im waitlisted at YSC, so I'm thinkin this might be another wl....man one of these schools would be nice! my numbers were 169 and 3.65 from ucla, but I couldn't score one of these right off the bat. sucks.

MissVA: After meeting you at ASW, I wouldn't be surprised if your app was strong enough to get you in off the WL. Will you turn down UVA if Toby comes calling?

Aww MT, thank you for the kind words! If Toby comes calling there will be more to worry about than which law school to attend... as hell will have frozen over and pigs will be flying!

I just got my waitlist notice from Harvard yesterday.

I'm also on the waitlist for Stanford. It seems the chances of getting in are slim.

I don't know if anywhere feels this way also, but my buddy says that applications are way up this year, meaning people are applying to more schools. In turn, WLs are up, and will probably allow a good number in since these people can only choose one school. What yall think?

Got the email. Going to decline very shortly - I'm about to send in my Yale deposit. :)

Waitlisted at both Harvard and Yale. I'm going to stay on both just to see, maybe send in another letter of recommendation to Yale.

Waitlisted today (off deferral):
3.7x, 177

At this point I expected as much yet, admittedly, this whole ordeal has left a sour taste in my mouth. It took them six full months to finally reach a decision (and it's a WL no less, despite my relatively good numbers). Yale and Stanford rejected me, sure, but at least they did so in a timely fashion. What's more, I've just learned that Harvard will not accept my withdrawal via email? Apparently I must mail them a hard copy despite their failure to mail me a hard copy of anything, ever.

You can call it sour grapes and all but, honestly, I wouldn't go even if Stock called me up and let me in today. I feel I (and others like me) are the victims of Harvard's decision to game next year's USNWR rankings. Whenever I get around to it I will be withdrawing.
