Re: Penn Law c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
Does anybody here know how to switch their app to ED2? According to the site my app needed to be received by 1/7 (it was) but all the materials needed to be in by 1/15 (I assume this means I can just send them an ED contract retroactively). I can't seem to find a PDF of their Early Decision Agreement anywhere, however. Anybody got any advice?

For those of you who wrote "Why Penn" essays - did you submit them in addition to the optional essay questions on the application? Or incorporate it into one of the answers to those questions?

I sort of incorporated it into my answer to the second question - the one about Penn's core values and goals.ravenclaw12 wrote:For those of you who wrote "Why Penn" essays - did you submit them in addition to the optional essay questions on the application? Ok- good to know. That's actually what I did as well. I've been UR2 since 11/30 and am starting to worry about an upcoming WL wave...ellygao wrote:I sort of incorporated it into my answer to the second question - the one about Penn's core values and goals.ravenclaw12 wrote:For those of you who wrote "Why Penn" essays - did you submit them in addition to the optional essay questions on the application? Went UR2 1/10. I feel like I have scant hope of being included in the next wave of admits.

Same boat. So a bunch of people went ucr2 on 1/10 and they made rd calls that day. just wondering, do people think that not getting a call day you went ucr2 is a bad thing, or does it usually take a while to go from ucr2 to decision? Also, do they continue to dole wl/dings on non-rd call days?Cogburn1984 wrote:Went UR2 1/10. I feel like I have scant hope of being included in the next wave of admits.

I think the fact it was the same day isn't a bad thing! They're relatively quick agter going UR2 but it could be that they were sort moving some out to make room for more, so to speakjoefi94 wrote:Same boat. Yeah I’m pretty sure no one gets the call on the day they go UCR2. Seems to take at least 2 weeks, depending on frequency of waves.ToddCraines wrote:I think the fact it was the same day isn't a bad thing! Re: Penn Law c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
So I went UCR2 last weekend and it has me really confused. Why the hell were they reviewing my app on the weekend? I haven't seen anyone else report the same UCR2 date and I couldn't find anything from this cycle or last where someone reported a weekend UCR2 date. I'm expecting a rejection, as my hard stats are a pretty serious reach (25<L<50, G<25), although I have excellent softs. I find it hard to believe they would put in work on the weekend just to reject me, but I wonder if I'm just too invested to look at this objectively. I seriously have no idea what to make of this and it's driving me a little crazy, anyone have any thoughts? (besides "stop being so neurotic..." )

I've definitely seen date changes on the weekends, and while it's hard to say why any ad coms would actually be working on the weekends, I definitely wouldn't take it as a bad sign! It's impossible to predict why ad coms do what they do, but a date change is always nice to at least see some movementPostNihilist wrote:So I went UCR2 last weekend and it has me really confused. I have quite similar stats, and my UCR2 date is 1/9. Hopefully the "holistic review process" will do us some favor. Are you RD or ED II?PostNihilist wrote:So I went UCR2 last weekend and it has me really confused. Why the hell were they reviewing my app on the weekend? So I submitted my ED2 form yesterday and I just went UCR2 but the status checker didn't acknowledge the receipt of the contract
