Waitlisted with 171/3.64. Honestly very disappointed because this was my first choice.

I think the consensus is that they sent them out at first and stopped in late October.latinxlawschool2020 wrote:HEY everyone. is there a status checker for UCLA??? I didn’t get an email for it and its been complete for weeks ?????

Hi all! I applied to distinguished scholars program and just found I got an interview. Is this good? Any tips on prepping? Thanks!

I interviewed with UCLA a month ago, complete a few days before that. They said they'd get back to me "probably within a month". Should I reach out? Or will that seem annoying?

Do you think it's a bad sign they haven't got back to me yet?

It's only the first week of December! So, nope!
A lot of us haven't heard back yet. It sounds like they just had their hands full with ED apps, so I wouldn't sweat it!
I feel like a hypocrite saying this (because I've been the worst about reading into things!), but there's no benefit in reading into timelines. We'll hear back!

It's not a bad sign.nosurprises23 wrote:Do you think it's a bad sign they haven't got back to me yet?
For one, they said they'd "probably' get back within a month. So there was always a chance it'd take longer than that.
The admissions office is pretty busy right now; the fact that they haven't gotten back to you yet isn't a bad sign at all. They're just busy traveling, making admitted student calls, pouring over applicant profiles, etc. The fact that they interviewed you means they're interested; if anything that's good.
One thing you don't want to do is get their attention right now in a negative way. I don't know how Dean Schwartz or team would react, but I know Spivey has repeatedly said that admissions offices get annoyed with students who call in to find out the status of their app. The last thing you want to do is flag yourself as someone who's overly anxious.
This is hard advice to take, because I sure as hell know I didn't follow this last year, but you wanna try and take a step back from this. It's impossible to know when they'll get back to you.

Yeah that all sounds like good advice. Thanks! I'm just anxious. Submitted apps from mid october til 11/8 and all are complete yet I have not heard any decisions yet. Just gettin antsy.

Hey! 1L here, I accepted a distinguished scholars offer last spring. The interview was intimidating just because it was with a panel of law professors, but I didn't really know what to expect going in. It was more intense than other interviews I had done with other schools, but don't let that scare you! Just try to relax and answer their questions as honestly and comfortably as you can. My questions were really tailored to my specific background so it was really easy to talk about. They also had me do some logic puzzles on the spot. I didn't have a pencil and paper on me, which put me at a disadvantage, but I was able to get by.gobears18 wrote:Hi all! I applied to distinguished scholars program and just found I got an interview. Just got the call from Dean Schwartz this morning! There's apparently an admitted students reception/event in San Francisco in March, which seems more doable for me than a visit since I'll be going to the East Coast for visits. If any Bay Area folks in here, I'll see you there!
Fwiw, I submitted before Thanksgiving, then went complete on December 1 after a transcript issue was resolved. They sent me the status checker fairly quickly in November.

Hmm, well I didn't do any of that. It was just Dean Schwartz and an admissions person...lazarzhr wrote:Hey! 1L here, I accepted a distinguished scholars offer last spring. In via a phone call from the Dean this morning!
Submitted 11/27, completed 11/28. The turnaround seems awfully fast to me... and makes me worry that much more about my other apps that have been radio silence since early Nov...

Don't worry too much; UCLA had the fastest turnaround for me too last year; my other apps took up 'til late January to hear back about, but they went fine.lawschoolapps7777777 wrote:In via a phone call from the Dean this morning!
