Thank you!emilyLl wrote:Thanks!!andysimbi wrote:This might be a neurotic question (feel free to tell me to pull myself together and just wait) but does anyone have any idea what it means when the status *date* changes but not the status itself?
My application was complete on the 12th but today the status date switched to the 19th. Everything else on the page is the same.
Is this meaningful? Am I overthinking everything??
It's much too early in the cycle for me to be falling apart like this haha
ETA: Congrats, emilyLl!!!! missed you post when I wrote up mine
When the status date changes but not the status itself, you're UR2. I was UR2 for about two days before my decision went out. No need to worry!
Somehow, the countdown on this priority track deal is more stressful than not having any idea at all!

Waitlist/Priority Reserve list
Above both their 75ths (173/3.89), so guessing my Why Duke came across insincere. Trying not to freak out but this and not hearing back from Virginia the past 2 + weeks has me anxious af.

Am I to assume that "provisionally admitted" is the same as an acceptance?
Is a straight forward "accepted" a possibility in Priority Track?

just a heads up, most RD applicants had to wait several months last cycle, IIRC most were January and after. they have to get through all the PT first.profdogwalker wrote:are any RD applicants UR? or have heard anything?

Anyone know if Duke does travel stipends? No mention of it in my acceptance packet.

Yeah they do, you get x amount based on how far away you are. Let me get last year's data.Slippin' Jimmy wrote:Anyone know if Duke does travel stipends? No mention of it in my acceptance packet.
E: it ranged from $300 to $400, the forms will be emailed a bit closer to admitted student

Re: Duke c/c 2021 Applicants (2017/18)
I just got out of the NYC one!! I enjoyed it a lot. I think they covered a lot of basic information, and the idea was to keep it general so any of the deans can pitch in. I went specifically for Duke and really enjoyed hearing what Dean Hoye had to say. He stressed collaborative work a lot - I definitely recommend going.stjeff00 wrote:For anyone that went to the Dean's Panel , is it worth it? Just got the email this morning

I didn't. We'll see how much that mattered in a few days.Platopus wrote:Has everyone been tailoring their PS to accommodate Duke's requirement to discuss personal/career aspirations? I wrote 1 sentence about my career aspirations broadly outlining them in the personal statement then spoke more in depthly in the optional essay.Platopus wrote:Has everyone been tailoring their PS to accommodate Duke's requirement to discuss personal/career aspirations? In other news, I emailed admissions and they do not do travel stipends for independent visits, only for admitted students day.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
