Hi everyone! Priority WL here. Anyone planning on attending the event? Seems like a long way to go, but it could be worth it. Has anyone spoken to someone who has attended this event in previous years? Thanks, all!

Re: EMORY WAITLIST Class of 2020
I'm also wondering if anyone is going to the priority waitlist event next Friday, or if anyone knows if that's the only way to get off of the WL? I can't take off work for another event when it's not a guarantee, but I'd still like to get off of the waitlist.

I'm going, but I've been reading the waitlist threads from the past couple of years and plenty of people got in who didn't attend or visit. I wouldn't be too worried about it.tncats wrote:I'm also wondering if anyone is going to the priority waitlist event next Friday, or if anyone knows if that's the only way to get off of the WL? Oh that's a relief! Thanks for sharing your research so I didn't have to do it.Dirtyolmuskrat wrote:I'm going, but I've been reading the waitlist threads from the past couple of years and plenty of people got in who didn't attend or visit. Has anyone heard of someone who HAS gone to the PL waitlist event and NOT gotten an acceptance?

99% sure there was a poster here that happened to either last year or the year before. I was feeling super confident until that lol.Dogs>Pizza>LawSchool wrote:Has anyone heard of someone who HAS gone to the PL waitlist event and NOT gotten an acceptance?

Ah! Oh no! Well otherwise would you say the odds for PL are looking pretty good? Or at least favorable? I'm sure all we can really guess is from reading these blog posts, but always worth an ask!

Do you think a LOCI would influence whether or not you get off of the priority waitlist?

Re: EMORY WAITLIST Class of 2020
If there's really less than 100 on PWL and assuming a lot withdraw, then it definitely feels favorable (like more than 50%) of getting in, but I have no idea lol.Dogs>Pizza>LawSchool wrote:Ah! Oh no! Anyone know if there is any chance at all of getting off the regular waitlist?

Re: EMORY WAITLIST Class of 2020
Because I have nothing better to do (ha!), I pulled some data from LSN (yes, it took forever) and have these (rough) finding. These are NOT approved or verified by Emory or TLS.com, they're just my rough calculations. Also, keep in mind that this is only representative of ~9-12% people who self-reported their acceptances to LSN.com. Finally, I don't want anyone to hold me to these, but I thought some of you might appreciate it!

Re: EMORY WAITLIST Class of 2020
Question: I submitted a LOCI (because I applied in October) a week before I was waitlisted at Emory in March. Their Waitlist FAQ says they only want one LOCI after being waitlisted. So... Does my first one count? Should I write another one?

The email they sent says May through the Summer, but looks like last year people here started getting accepted April 22nd. Here's hoping for that.Dogs>Pizza>LawSchool wrote:1st deposit deadline was yesterday! Fingers crossed they start opening up waitlist spots soon Post if you have any news!

Do you know if it was mainly people from the priority wait list who were getting accepted that early?Dirtyolmuskrat wrote:The email they sent says May through the Summer, but looks like last year people here started getting accepted April 22nd. Re: EMORY WAITLIST Class of 2020
When was the first deposit deadline last year? If it was April 15, for example, and some PL people got in on April 22, we could maybe expect ~ a week before we hear anything? Does this sound right?
