Just got my scholarship info - 35k/year, which puts Villanova right in the range of debt I'd be willing to take on. I plan on visiting visiting as soon as possible since I am eager to have everything figured out. Its looking more and more like I'll be attending Villanova unless I hate everything about it when I visit.
Congrats everyone!

That being said, does anyone have experiences renegotiating $$ from Villanova? I'm hoping they will consider a full tuition scholarship from PSU Dickinson as a peer school.fattsdomino wrote:Just got my scholarship info - 35k/year, which puts Villanova right in the range of debt I'd be willing to take on. I got (a very flattering) phone call on 1/20 and received my acceptance letter via snail mail about a week later. There was no scholarship amount mentioned in the letter. I followed up with the admissions office re scholarship packages and they said we can expect a follow-up awards letter by "early March".

Checking in to see if anyone was accepted that did NOT write the optional essay. Let me know. I'm about to submit to 'Nova but I haven't written the optional essay and am wondering if I need to write one.

I think it depends on your numbers. If you're a shoe in, you probably don't need to write the optional essay.Legallylawyer2020 wrote:Checking in to see if anyone was accepted that did NOT write the optional essay. Let me know. On a side note, I did my undergrad and masters degree at Villanova, so if anyone has questions about the school or the area, I'm happy to answer!
However, if 'Nova is your first choice and/or your numbers aren't above the medians, I'd write one. Ya know?

Was scholarship information included in your acceptance emails or the acceptance package? I've seen both listed on here and got an email but no mention of scholarship info... still no acceptance package in the mail yet though

I got an acceptance email with a congrats and some general information but no scholarship info. Then, on the same day, I got an email that only talked about scholarship info.chelssd3232 wrote:Was scholarship information included in your acceptance emails or the acceptance package? Maybe check your spam folder?
My mailed acceptance package did not include any info about scholarship info.
Hopes this helps!

I got my scholarship email a week after I was accepted/got my acceptance email. I don't think they send the scholarship information in the acceptance package but I'm not positive on that.chelssd3232 wrote:Was scholarship information included in your acceptance emails or the acceptance package? Has anyone tried scholarship renegotiation yet?

Haven't even gotten scholarship information yet. I was told it might take a few weeks after acceptance to get this. I guess if you've heard back from all of the schools you've applied to you can start negotiating.chelssd3232 wrote:Has anyone tried scholarship renegotiation yet?

FYI it took them about a week to get my scholarship package to me so I would look out for that!dbalkaran wrote:Haven't even gotten scholarship information yet. Got my acceptance call Dec. 1st then email with scholarship about 1 week later. I tried to start negotiating and used acceptances to peer schools and a fellowship offer from a lower school. Got a response that all scholarships are final. At least I tried!

How long did they take to get back to you? They told me they would forward my request to the scholarship committee for consideration but I haven't heard anything yet.montecma wrote:Got my acceptance call Dec. 1st then email with scholarship about 1 week later. What was your app status before your W/L notification?thefuturewoods wrote:Received a wait list notification email today. Hoping everyone sees some (more positive) movement soon!
Mine just says 'Complete', but i'm not sure if that means Review Complete, or something else. Been that way since March 6th.
