I recently applied to Georgetown's part time program. I'm worried I might get sidelined for YP (GPA = 50, but my LSAT >>75, well above average softs), and I really like Georgetown -- the faculty are great, the clinics are v cool, and I know a lot of badass lawyers who are alums. I work in DC, and a lot of people here apply to the part time program so they can go to school and avoid disrupting their careers, which really appeals to me. Post election, I'm especially reluctant to leave rather than work here fighting Trump.

Is there anything I can do to convey my sincere interest in the school? I did write the optional 250. Do I wait and send an LOCI in a couple months? Is there other stuff I could do?

So this is me spitballing, but if you're applying for PT I doubt that you will be in danger of YP. They're aware of your job in DC, presumably aware of your desire to stay in the area, etc. That will make you a more attractive admit (esp given your numbers), I'd think. If you were applying for FT with your numbers you could get into higher ranked programs, so they might be a little bit more gun-shy.

That is based in no research or numbers whatsoever.

From what I understand, it is only if you applied for both that you should be worried. But, if you only checked the pt box on the app, you will be totally fine.

Anyone attending the Open House for Admitted Students on Jan 26/27? There are ASD's in Feb and March too but I can't decide which one would be the best (weather wise and useful as a potential student). Before or after they start making scholarship decisions?

Fee waiver at UVA, Duke. Waitlisted at both.

Is there even a difference between Duke "priority reserve" and waitlist, or is it just a fancy pc way to waitlist me.

For those of you who interviewed, how long did you wait to hear your results afterwards?

I interviewed 12/22 and am still waiting, but I figure the break has something to do with that :)

I'm sure it happens. I don't have any specific examples, but some people receive fee waivers for schools that they would consider reaches. I've also seen people saying part of the reason fee waivers are given is so more people will apply and schools can lower their acceptance rate.

1 week after the interview I was able to request login info.
I couldn't log in yet :(. Was yours a group or individual? I wonder if there's a difference between the two.

I got the interview request a week after going complete, so I figured results would be quicker :/. Stupid human need to find patterns among chaos.

I did an alumni interview on 12/20 and haven't heard anything yet (which is not for a lack of trying the admitted students trick about once an hour).

Did it say the username and password would be sent to your email? There's a 3-4 day delay from the point you're able to request username/password and actually login to the admitted students site.
I haven't been notified of anything since the interview a week ago. I couldn't login using the "trick" on the admitted students website. Guess I'm off to http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=103945

Does the acceptance letter come via USPS in the mailbox or from UPS/Fedex at your door?

As someone who's lived in the DC area for four years now, the March ASD would be the best in terms of weather. The second half of January through February is when we get our coldest weather, however I'll also say that it is not uncommon for us to get cold snaps as late as the first half of March. Not sure which ASW I will attend just yet, since I live within metro distance to the Law Center.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
