April 19!
One of my top choices has their first deposit due April 1st, so I'm kinda starting to get nervous. Feel like I'm going to have to make a snap decision if I'm allowed in at Vandy...
I also have an April 1st. I'll never understand that... it's way too soon given that a lot of top schools have their deadlines much past that and are still releasing decisions up to that date. Luckily my April 1 is like a 4th choice for me so I'll wave the date past with a shrug. But my 2nd choice (with Vandy being my first) is April 7, so we're getting down to the wire.

It would be too much for everyone to coordinate a day, right?

Thanks Gizmo!
you can ask for an extension, although they may not allow it.

Just applied. Do I have no chance or does applying late not necessarily hurt me?

Has anyone tried negotiating with Vandy? Really happy with their offer but wondering if I could potentially get more.

Just got the waitlist email too. I don't have other choices. Waitlists everywhere.

Jumping on the waitlist at 2 am train. LSN put me at a 83% chance. I really just don't get whats happening to me this cycle.

has anyone been successful in scholarship negotiation? i know they say they don't match other offers, but at this point, vandy is my first choice, and every little bit of merit aid helps. is it rude to shoot them an email explaining my situation, or should i just accept my fate of $80k?

Do yourself a favor and apply in September instead for the next admissions cycle

Same. Complete since 11/29. Basically hoping for just a waitlist at this point. Has anyone been outright accepted this late? :?

Except for Yale all schools have rolling admissions. This means that their spaces get filled throughout the application season. At this point they probably only have a small percentage of spaces available so they get more selective and you are competing against a bigger pool. If you apply in the next cycle, apply early, people with worse stats who apply early (including myself) find that the early application can make up for some of the other weaknesses in their applications (again with the exception of Yale).

Is there any data on how many Vanderbilt students are typically accepted off the waitlist? I really want to look into my chances of being accepted after a WL. As I'm sure is the case for a lot of you, most other schools that I'm considering have a nonrefundable deposit deadline in mid-April. I'll also have to sign a lease in a new city at some point in the next few months, so I'm really looking for data that could tell me how many people are accepted off the WL/what the timeline for most acceptances is. I see it as a real possibility that I may have to withdraw just for the amount of money I will have poured into a school in another city by the time a possible acceptance comes around.

3.4/177, although I opted not to interview, so they could probably tell that I wasn't that interested.

Jesus, that LSAT.

I did interview and thought it went amazing (but maybe I'm insane?). I figure that I'm a waitlist/ding though at this point.

167/3.4. I did interview and it went really well. I applied end of December. No optional essays. Still surprised at the WL.

Mind if I ask when did you apply?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
