Aside from the deposit, they also want you to upload a headshot photo. Is that standard or am I the only one who finds that odd?

Thanks! I've been worried for about the past week over how can I come back and work in Texas once I graduate, but this acceptance seals the deal and essentially ends my cycle. I just hope I don't have to pay sticker lol.PrezRand wrote:Congrats man! Does anyone here know what schools UT will negotiate scholarships?

Dean Farnsworth wants a photo so he can learn your name in advance. He's a badass, anybody in this thread ending up at UT is making a fantastic decision.S.Picquery wrote:I think it's for IDs.nimbus2020 wrote:Aside from the deposit, they also want you to upload a headshot photo. Not op, but I visited back in October and I think it was supposed to be 30 minutes when I scheduled it, but for me the tour was like an hour and a half. I had a student do the tour and he showed us EVERYTHING and went into a lot of detail of why we should go to UT, and how it is living in Austin. I'm not sure if all the tours are that long. I went on a Friday, so there wasn't that many people there, so I guess that's why he was able to take us into different classrooms, parts of the library, and into the courtroom.Shihbro wrote:how long was the tour?elcamino4 wrote:Hell yeah!! Will you still attend Texas if they do not give you a scholly?Torres1893 wrote:Not op, but I visited back in October and I think it was supposed to be 30 minutes when I scheduled it, but for me the tour was like an hour and a half. Re: Texas C/O 2020 (2016-2017) Applicants
I'm really considering it. I'm in-state so the tuition isn't super high, but 3 years of that with 3 years of COL makes it close to 150k. I had just accepted the fact I would be going to Maurer for only like 50k, and then I get accepted to UT a few days later. Now I'm back to square one lol. I know UT would be the best for me career wise, since I want to work in Texas, and it would open more doors for me if I wanted to do Biglaw or a clerkship, but is it worth 150k? I have no debt from UG, and I can live with my parents in Houston once I graduate for a year or two if I needed to, but still 150k is a lot of debt to carry, and it will only get bigger if I don't hit biglaw. I don't have any leverage really to negotiate with UT, unless Michigan accepts me, so i'm kind of in a rough spot.PrezRand wrote:Will you still attend Texas if they do not give you a scholly?Torres1893 wrote:Not op, but I visited back in October and I think it was supposed to be 30 minutes when I scheduled it, but for me the tour was like an hour and a half. Got the acceptance phone call Friday afternoon. How long does it usually take to hear about scholarship/how does Texas relay that information?

Did anyone else get in without a phone call or congratulatory e-mail? I just received an e-mail about my student ID which said I was a "future longhorn lawyer."

I went on a tour recently and was pleasantly surprised by how close-knit the law school seemed! I remember during undergrad my major was kinda fractured and I didn't really connect with a lot of people because the odds of you having the same class with anyone more than once were pretty low, I'm stoked that the law school doesn't seem like that.
