My app status changed again this morning. I think this the 4th time the date has changed for app complete. It seems like every two weeks they take a look at it and hold off on making a decision.
I was kind of hoping for a decision before the dec lsat scores came out.

Can anyone please tell me the minimum font size for ND application essays? Is size 11 acceptable? Doesn't say on LSAC...

The status checker moved for everyone today, I wouldn't read too much into it. ND must update their system throughout the process in a way that continues to update status checker dates, even though you may or may not have an actual update to your account.Torres1893 wrote:My app status changed again this morning. Iirc correctly it might actually be 12? You should go on their website and check, I remember it specifying there. I'm quite sure it was 12 but not 100%.RedPurpleBlue wrote:Nobody would know the answer to this question. You should just use your best judgement. Unfortunately, that's completely untrue.RedPurpleBlue wrote:Nobody would know the answer to this question. You should just use your best judgement. "Personal statements should be no more than two double-spaced pages, use 12 point font and standard margins, and include a header with your name and LSAC number. It is important to note that your personal statement should be your own work and in your own words."

So, I applied through their website in order to have the fee waived and they responded when I sent them my materials. However, I haven't gotten any status check info? Does this normally take some time or should I ask them about it?

I submitted on a Friday (18th) and received an email with the status checker on a Monday (21st). Not sure if 3 days is the average or if it was because I submitted during the weekend.ray.bee wrote:So, I applied through their website in order to have the fee waived and they responded when I sent them my materials. Top 6 for me. A lot of it will come down to $$.DoYouEvenTLS wrote:So where does NDLS rank in your list of potential law schools? It's near the top of mine, but I'm so scared of having to pay sticker.
My SO would be going to grad school in the same area so that'd be an awesome option for us both

Excluding T14 law schools, does ND give the best odds for big law in Chicago?

Yeah, I think I'll end up going somewhere else and just getting placed somewhere else. Maybe I still have a shot at NURedPurpleBlue wrote:Outside of the T14, I think it goes Notre Dame > Illinois > WashU for Chicago placement. That being said,it looks like only 20% of the class gets Chicago; 43 of Notre Dame's 179 graduates (24%) were placed in Illinois according to the 2015 ABA employment summary. We should probably assume half a dozen to a dozen of those aren't even practicing in Chicago (e.g. going to Peoria, Moline, Springfield, etc). That's brings us to between 17% and 21% of graduates getting Big Law in Chicago. That's not great.notsolawful wrote:Excluding T14 law schools, does ND give the best odds for big law in Chicago?
If you want Big Law and can get a $40k/yr. scholarship, then I think Notre Dame is a decent deal, because you have plenty of room to strike out and be fine with mid law or public service. Attending for anything less than $30k/yr. seems a bit reckless. At that point, your COA is six figures, and you only have a small percentage chance of BL. If you find yourself at median or god forbid a bit lower, then it's going to be tough.
At least, that's my analysis on Notre Dame. If you're debt adverse and want BL, I'd probably take Illinois at full over Notre Dame at $30k/yr.

A lot of the low number for Chicago is self selection among the top 35% or so to home markets. If you have ties and are in that thirdish, you should be able to get chicago.

Keep in mind the semester does not start until next Monday. I don't think admissions is operating at full speed yet.chili_davis wrote:+1Gitaroo_Dude wrote:Ughhhhh, their lack of activity after the holiday break is killing me.
