Part of me wants to wait and see what I'll get for need based before negotiating.Dodocogon wrote:Yeah, I'm hopeful they'll be receptive to negotiations with some decently stingy offers so far... maybe the strategy is different this year, not sure.mrtux45 wrote:Right, it'll be interesting to see their scholarship strategy moving forward. Based on this thread, what's been awarded on LSN in comparison to years past, it seems they're giving less across the board.Dodocogon wrote:From my looking at past threads, looks like this is the case. First wave is to the group you mentioned, with other offers rolling out thru Feb.mrtux45 wrote:Fair to say that the first wave of scholarships went to ED rollovers and 75<LSAT applicants?
Looking at LSN, almost everyone who posted $ was above the 75th. Maybe BU is waiting to see where they stand with their applicant pool by late Feb?
While it's too early to tell maybe they're trying to push their numbers up, waiting to see who negotiates, or are just stingy to ED people who demonstrated their interest already? I just can't imagine passing on other opportunities to take on big debt for BU..which definitely sucks
I'm just hoping that since it's a low LSAT/Low applicant cycle, those of us with a >75 LSAT will have luck with negotiations as the cycle moves forward. It kind of makes sense to offer less to start, right? They expect people to try to negotiate so they want to start off low for those people. They also get to make out with giving less money than they are willing to for those that accept the initial offer. I know that pre-TLS Ashrice would not have even thought that negotiating was a thing I could do.

Anybody hear about scholarships today? I'm wondering if the next wave will be this week or if that may be it for a few weeks.

I took a quick look at the BU C/O 2019 thread. Some posts suggest that scholarship information went out on the 2nd (Tues) and the 4th (Thurs) of February last year.whodareswins wrote:Anybody hear about scholarships today? I RSVP'd for a tour this morning and did not receive and automatic confirmation email. Is this normal?

I did not get scholly info with the admit packet but I was admitted BEFORE they started giving scholly info out. My info came via email...but not sure if it will change now that they're giving scholarship info out to people.

How long did you have to wait between acceptance and scholly info?

BU is probably out for me. Just got the scholarship offer for 90k. Above both 75ths. Sorta surprised about how low it is based on offers from higher ranked schools. Oh well!
