Checking in. I'm old (30) and not particularly accomplished in my career. Finally have enough $ and balls to give this law school thing a shot though!
From Michigan, splitter, want early start, thinking of applying ED even though I've read not to, in that it's far and away my top choice and any scholarship money I'd potentially lose would be negligible.

I noticed that Michigan's supplemental essay section on LSAC only provides space to upload one document - if we're submitting two supplemental essays, should we submit them in one document with different headings on each page? Or will the portal prompt you to upload another doc once you've uploaded the first? Does anyone have experience with this? thanks!

What's the opinion on starting in the Summer? I'm working now so I don't really have a reason I have to start in the Fall, and having a GPA may help for 1L summer.
What's the consensus?

If Summer start means a lighter load for the following semesters it seems like a good option.

Summer start is a huge plus for me wanting to go to Michigan. Gets me out of school 4 months earlier, and makes the first semester adjustment for me a little easier (been outta school for a bit now).proteinshake wrote:+1Dr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:What's the opinion on starting in the Summer? Based on what I've seen on the UMich site, it seems like some of the perks are a lighter course load to ease into LS, (the obvious one) graduating early (or taking a semester off), but also the smaller amount of students (90 or so) --> better bonding experiences. I know of someone who started at UMich this summer in their summer start program; I could try to ask her about this if you all would like.Dr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:What's the opinion on starting in the Summer? also I feel like I'm the only one on this website who doesn't have a friend at a T14.

I encouraged my now ex-girlfriend to go to law school, helped her study for the LSAT (I got a 169), and then she beat me and got into far better schools than I could. So there are worse things than not knowing anyone at a T14.

Yeah, been there done that. My 169 expires after this cycle, I've already got another cancellation on my record, and while (naturally) I believe I can do better than I have, I no longer have the time/desire/will to re-study all over again.

37 states represented. I wonder which 13 weren't and if being from one of them is a boon this upcoming cycle.
