I've submitted every app but Chicago Columbia and Yale. Wow. This feels weird.

Jesus you guys are fast!

I've only got three in so far. Always feel like if I rush I'm going to trip over my dick and introduce a stupid typo that's going to make me look ridiculous.

well, to be fair I'd worked on them for a while back in August and stuff.

I'm sure I tripped on my D-word multiple times and have a typo or too  My Duke app had one and it worked out okay tho

Solution is to never ever look at my submitted apps and thus never know...........

Yay for you hitting the submit button over on VA tho :D

eta the sentence where I said I might have a typo had a typo. smh I'm in trouble

I'm considering not applying to Chi and Columbia because of the lack of fee waivers. If they don't give me fee waivers, they're not gonna give me scholarships.

there's no connection between fee waivers and admittance/scholly.

Any advice on whether applying to Chi and Columbia is worth it? I'd need a full ride to attend, and my 4.0/174 don't really make me a lock for a Hamilton or Rubenstein, esp since I'm KJD.

Samesies. Had a nice 50 hr/week jerb until this Hurricane hit Haiti. Now, it's more like 70/week.

Exhausted. So, I feel ya man. (This is what I'm blaming my 0-6 FF start as well--thanks for adding to that pain btw  )
I know that exhausted feeling, been rough the last couple of months. I went to my boss and showed her my work list and was like I have 240 hours of work to do this month can you help me out, and she just was like you are going to have to deal with it.

I've been crazy lucky in FF this year, barely have had any time to make any moves my picks just been killing it this year. I feel like every hour over 60 is exponentially worse on my mindset for a set time period. Super glad I got most of my apps done in the first week. I have a few that I still need to write supplemental for but haven't had any time...
I feel the same way. The other thing that kills me is irregularity of work. I can pull 6 twelves a week and get into a rhythm way better than some chaotic, unpredictable 50 hr/week schedule with pop-ups. That not only kills the consistency of your productivity but also your makes your free time feel like there's a work-monster looming around.

Sorry the boss isn't cutting you some slack. That sounds...insufferable.

A fee waiver is not an indication of a school's interest in you correct? Like it's probably just an algorithm based on your LSAT score

Normally I'd object to all statements like these made in earnest or in jest, however I have decided to manifest a Yale acceptance through ritually repeated affirmations and thus I accept your assistance in this endeavor. TY

I know a guy who got a Ruby with similar numbers, but he had a lot of work experience. The Ruby, imo, is a lot less numbers-driven, but it'd still be possible for you if you have a really good story to tell.

You're certainly competitive for a Hamilton though. CLS struggles to get high GPAs, and I know at least one of the Hamiltons this year had a 174 (dunno their GPA, but I think a year out of school).

But this is all beside the point, because both of these schools are worth applying to even without being competitive because you can and should leverage their scholarship offers to get more money from other schools.

So, even if I prefer UVA/Penn/Duke with a full, it's worth dropping the money at Columbia and Chicago in order to, say, garner a half-ride, which I could then use to leverage the lower t14? (sorry if this is a dumb Q, still new to this)

You're pretty much a lock for Dillard/Levy/Mordecai imo, but if you were to miss out on getting a Vanderbilt or another NYU scholarship, it definitely helps your negotiation game to have a $120k offer from Chicago (and I think they also have another higher scholarship than that under the Ruby). And just in case something happens with the lower t14 (you are KJD and named scholarships can be unpredictable), I think the insurance is worthwhile.

CLS is weird and doesn't tend to have scholarship awards between the Butler and the Hammy, but you could also use a Butler to negotiate a higher scholarship with Chicago, and then use that to leverage a higher scholarship with another school. Chicago and CLS tend to only consider each other as peer schools for negotiation purposes.

ETA: CLS and Chi will also look at NYU, but not as much as each other.

For my scholarship interview and school tour tomorrow, is a suit overkill?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
