Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2019 Waitlist
Patient waiters, accept your fates - The "waves" have receded back into the seas.
My information, which I think is reliable, is that HLS enjoyed a
much higher yield than usual this admissions cycle. So there
will be little if any need to draw from the WL. While there may be an occasional
admit or two this summer there won't be any waves. Not happening. Whatever
is the fine law school at which you've deposited, start loving it now, because that's
most likely where you will be enrolled come September . Sorry, reality can suck, but that's where things stand.

I get it and I believe you are correct - just wish they would release us.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but it seems odd they would not release us if there is only going to be a trickle of admissions. I imagine they would have released the majority of people by now.oliverb wrote:Patient waiters, accept your fates - The "waves" have receded back into the seas.

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2019 Waitlist
They may have done that for all we know, although the poll suggests otherwise. That said, they might need to keep a lot of people for very few open spots since they probably need on their waitlist as many options as possible. e.g. a spot opens up and they have their medians set so they want to fill it with a female URM from North Dakotakalifornia wrote:

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2019 Waitlist
Think there is some truth to this. It doesn't cost them anything to keep people on the waitlist, so from their side of the fence why not keep a larger pool to pick from if a spot does open up.theconsigliere wrote:They may have done that for all we know, although the poll suggests otherwise. That said, not sure anyone knows exactly what's in store but the summer is definitely getting shorter. But thankfully everyone who is on the waitlist likely has another great choice to end up in the fall as well

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2019 Waitlist
Under what circumstances would more spots open up? Someone gets off another waitlist and chooses the other school over Harvard? Anything else?

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2019 Waitlist
That's the most likely option. Given that spots open at Yale and Stanford are also very slim, any trickle down would also be slim. With individual slots then needing to be filled, Harvard would look towards similar over slightly better candidates to match that need in the class. At this point, we are all probably competing for no more than three spots (if lucky).ftge232 wrote:Under what circumstances would more spots open up? It's definitely to late to assume that they are waiting to fill out a class size after deposits.
There is the possibility that one of the admissions officers has a life-altering near death experience with enough of a carthatic effect to make them pay forward their recent fortune. In that case we could all make it off the waitlist.

3.9/176. Thanks! I had totally given up on Harvard at least a month ago and then got a js1 on Tuesday, interviewed Wednesday, and js2 on Thursday so it happened crazy fast. Although all that was preceded by about 8 months of silence...lsat_hopeful wrote:Congrats!theconsigliere wrote:In today. Interviewed yesterday

Sure, no problem. 165/4.04 ugpa from UCLA. Great human rights work softs countered a very low LSAT.lsat_hopeful wrote:Sorry to hear that, but congrats on Penn!!labergel wrote:Dinged as of 11:55 AM.
