I couldn't find a UVA waitlist thread for this year. I was waitlisted in the fall and I've sent one LOCI.

I was waitlisted in early March. Planning on sending in that LOCI next week.

I can't see it being good news, especially with the "if at all." Hopefully they're just trying to keep expectations low, but I don't think they have much reason to lie to us.

It looks like I cant beat the odds but sent a second LOCI anyway.

My understanding of the email was that the class is mostly full right now, but there may be movement later on if people can hold through the summer?

That was my reading of the email as well. Hopefully some spots will open up later into the game.

There was minimal waitlist movement all through last cycle due to over-admitting, and resulting deferred admissions with hefty scholarships. Since similar deferments were offered this cycle, I'm expecting we're in for a pretty similarly moribund waitlist.

Oh boy saw it on the UVA thread that people are already getting released from the WL....guess they really are full...

Definitely the case. I was released this morning.

If the stars happen to align and they start plucking off the waitlist, is scholarship money virtually off the table? Not sure what the pattern has been in previous years.

for the people who were released, were you splitters/reverse splitters/traditional?

I'm more of an old spice guy but I got the email, too.

I figured I'd post to say I got in off the waitlist. I don't know how to say that without it coming across as bragging, so I apologize. Feel free to PM for more info if UVA is your dream school.

Phone call. Also, I figured I'd chime in and say that if you do visit and talk to someone there, please send a thank you note afterwards. I've spent a lot of my "career" interviewing and hiring people to work for me, and I've been shocked how rarely people send thank you notes, like less than 5% I'd say. It probably won't make the difference here, but it might.

I got the same. Not sure what it means.
