*Finally* heard back today that I'm on the special group preferred list, part time program. They only said an update by early May... no definite date. Just adds to the chaos of information.

It was definitely frustrating waiting that long. No interviews during that time, either, and I was complete March 1. I'm in at another school with money, and their seat deposit is due next week. I'm going to hold on as long as I can and see if GULC can come through with some money, but I'll withdraw if they can't.

For the LOR, should/can I have a recommender send it directly to Admissions and say that I have not seen it?

The rest of the waitlist will be given spaces over the summer if there are any, if not the hopeful students will fade away into the abyss that is the valley for unoffered waitlist students.
Source: Admissions at Georgetown, who told me every year they pull relatively equally from each waitlist, and that the most important factor they consider is commitment to accepting the offer and likelihood to matriculate.

For your extra LOR, make sure you follow the instructions given to you in your waitlist email. Usually, this will mean sending it through LSAC.osgiliath wrote:For the LOR, should/can I have a recommender send it directly to Admissions and say that I have not seen it?

Did people who responded to the feeler email ever receive some sort of receipt of email confirmation?

I did not either, but don't worry. It was a simple response that you got their waitlist update. They probably got so many responses that it wasn't worth it to them to respond to every single response. The admissions office is probably just swamped this time of year, so no worries!ssitt wrote:I did notls2k16 wrote:Did people who responded to the feeler email ever receive some sort of receipt of email confirmation?

I didn't see any instructions on how to send the LOR. Actually, I'm on 6 waitlists right now and none of them say how to send the extra LOR. Is there a best practice for this?

Most say that if you want an extra LOR just send directly to the admissions email. That's what I did.osgiliath wrote:

I just need some sort of communication today. Preferred wait list, deposited elsewhere yesterday (kind of had to), Georgetown is still my #1!

Where in the feeler e-mail did it definitively say we'd be hearing from them today?
Sounds like we'll get an update anytime between today [but not necessarily today], and next week (May 9th). But maybe I'm misinterpreting it.If you don't hear from us earlier, the key date for us (and you) is May 2nd when our first deposits are due. With the usual extension requests, we will know for sure whether we have any Round One openings by Monday, May 9th at the latest. We will be back in touch then, if not before.

I think it's safe to say we will see movement this week. How much movement that will be, however, is unknown.ssitt wrote:"On our end, we will try to keep you as up to date as possible on the waitlist situation, either before May 2nd or by May 9th."ls2k16 wrote:Where in the feeler e-mail did it definitively say we'd be hearing from them today?

I just went and read through last year's waitlist thread. Too depressing. I think until June about four TLSers got in.

On the plus side we are far more organized and friendly in this thread so we have that going for us...

It seems that most, if not all, acceptances were done via U.S. Mail. Any chance that the WL acceptances would be done the same way? Or do we think it will be done through email?
