Been a week since anyone has made any new posts here. How are you guys feeling about Loyola? Anyone have a change of heart either way?

Loyola will be inviting admits to the official FB group after the second deposit in early June.a12en wrote:Been a week since anyone has made any new posts here. How are you guys feeling about Loyola? Anyone have a change of heart either way?

Still waiting....
the top of my status page says:
We have received all requirements and your application is now COMPLETE and ready for the review process.
But my current status is blank. Current status day is blank. Decision is blank. Program time is blank.
I know I applied relatively late but should I be concerned? I mean, I was hoping for an update by Monday since seat deposits are due this weekend but since I'm blank, I don't know if that means they're waiting or they haven't even looked yet.

If you're considering Loyola and haven't paid, I'd call admissions and verify to avoid any possible issues.

Someone on there put "WL, Accepted." Not sure how much truth there is to that though.

That person has a 151 LSAT. Seems fishy to me.lolppp wrote:http://loyola.lawschoolnumbers.com/applicantslordmac69 wrote:Anyone on the waitlist get any movement yet?

Called admissions on Tuesday, seeing as my status checker page is blank. They said they hope to have all decisions out by the end of May/mid June. Hope.

Where did you guys hear about the Law Star II program? I was admitted this past weekend and didn't realize it was going on : (
@Forever, I'm in the same boat wondering about scholarship money. I got scholarships from U San Diego Law, and was hoping on seeing what Loyola could offer...

I received an email about it. But it was at the beginning of the month. Maybe they just didn't have any more spaces available by the time you were accepted?xpiamchris wrote:Yeah I received the packet, but no info about the programForever0l wrote:Hey xp, they gave me my packet with schools info at the program yesterday. It was a good opportunity to get ahead on a few things(writing case briefs and expectations in the classroom), but you'll be fine. Orientation will be all the preparation you need to get started in law school.xpiamchris wrote:Where did you guys hear about the Law Star II program? Is anyone familiar with the surrounding areas? I'm thinking of living in Silver Lake or Echo Park, but I don't know much besides what I learned through quick google searches.

Echo Park used to be a tough neighborhood, but I was just there a couple months ago and it's completely changed. It's a lot nicer. There are still some problems with crime, but nothing like before.Daviddsr wrote:Is anyone familiar with the surrounding areas? Silver Lake is up and coming as well. I have heard great things from people who live in the neighborhood, but I've never spent time there myself.
These two neighborhoods border one another so neither will be closer to school. Based on what I've heard, I would go with Silver Lake if I had to choose. But one is so close to the other that I don't even think that choosing one means you won't get to experience the other.

I live in Chinatown. It's coming up, with lots of new apartment buildings being built and hip restaurants moving in. I'm leaving my place and it will be for rent in mid-June. $1550 for a 2 bedroom with a parking spot. Message me if interested.nickarmer wrote:Echo Park used to be a tough neighborhood, but I was just there a couple months ago and it's completely changed. It's a lot nicer. Silver Lake is really nice- a lot of walkable coffee shops, restaurants and bars, but with rent prices to match. Echo Park, despite the many hipster attractions, isn't as walkable, but I enjoy hanging out in the area. The people seem less stuffy.
