it gets awarded to quite a few people. what do you mean by unrealistic? if you mean the stipulation then i don't really think a 2.8 is unrealistic. in terms of how good of a deal it is i guess that depends, it pretty much equals a full ride if you get it for 2l and 3l along with 8k/10k for 1l but you have to work approx. 20 hours a week the second two years (which sorta makes it not a full ride), this might be cool if your doing meaningful research with a member of the faculty, say working on a publication or something, but then again it might kinda suck if you're serving as a TA in a random undergrad class, which is something that some GRAs end up doing. i personally plan to take the deal.
I guess by 'unrealistic' I meant 'whats the catch?' haha but thanks! I think I may end up taking it as well.

I received the same scholarship as well, except I was given a non-resident tuition waiver for 1L instead of the 8k/10k amount. Where did you see the GPA stipulation as a 2.8? In their handbook online it list the GPA stipulation for good academic standing as a 2.2 (Handbook link: https://insidelaw.gsu.edu/document/bulletin/).
I got the same thing Randy. I am SC so i got the out of state waiver, and mine only said 'good academic standing' as well.

i don't know how i had a 2.8 in my head, i didn't read it anywhere but for some reason i was thinking that. your right that 2.2 is good standing.. so that does seem to make it a lot more attractive.

edit: also from what i understand they all are different, for instance the amount in the first year could be different or you could just get the gra for one year instead of two.

I did. If anyone is at UGA and is going, would you want to carpool?

I was accepted in early-January. I just looked at my application status and saw that they mailed a scholarship offer out today!

I'll be there as well.
When you say another round, does that mean some applicants could get an additional one on top of one they already accepted you think?
I accepted my initial offer but I'm planning on negotiating.

they do negotiate, I'm not sure if the deadline having past and your already accepting the first offer will hurt your chances of getting more or not.

Nothing yet. Just sent negotiation email end of last week... I'll post an update as soon as I have something significant. Also in process of negotiating with other schools.

Anyone know anything about a Facebook page for students who are attending? I heard they had one last year that was helpful.

I tried searching for one the other day but didn't come up with anything. Would love to join one though to network with everyone attending.

The school makes one eventually, I think it's usually around April.

I'm considering GSU because I find Atlanta appealing and don't want biglaw. Are you living on-campus?

I considered living on-campus, but I found a nice, cheaper place 5 minutes from the Indian Creek MARTA station in Stone Mountain. 30 minute-ish commute if I take the marta.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
