What's everyone's plan for negotiations? How are you sending your requests? I wonder if it is better to reach out before or after the April 15 date.

Has anyone heard back about the Gregoire Fellow thing? It says in the email that decisions will be sent out in the week of April 4. Well, it is Friday already.

I have not heard anything yet. I am crossing my fingers for all of us. Just heard back about a scholarship from another school, but I really want it to make sense to go to UW over the other school.
Wish I could be there at the ASW. I have not said hello to Rick at Big Time in a long time.

Fingers crossed for you. If you go to UW, I call dibs on your spot at USCrobertwabisabi wrote:I have not heard anything yet. I am crossing my fingers for all of us. Just heard back about a scholarship from another school, but I really want it to make sense to go to UW over the other school.

The reception was great. A big thank you to you, and the other current students for coordinating the event!mcmand wrote:I was one of the current students at the Thursday night reception. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Sorry I couldn't go to Finn's with everyone afterward - I commute to Olympia this quarter and wake up at 5:30 M-F, so drinking on a Thursday night isn't an option

Did you receive the scholarship info through personal email?robertwabisabi wrote:I received a scholarship. I am posting more details in the class of 2019 thread, but feel free to pm.forlornhope wrote:I'm worried those who did receive something might be too embarrassed to state so. I'm curious to know what the overall offer landscape was. Either that, or they are sending actual offers separately or through snail mail.
Funny, how the poll for this thread places scholarship as one of the highest priorities for UW attendance.
Also for those waiting on an offer of admission or scholarship info, the ABA report paints a pretty clear picture about what to expect. Of the 509 total enrolled students last year, ~40% paid sticker, ~30% received up to 9k, ~15% received 9k-14k. Of the remaining ~75 students, 18 were Gates Fellows (full tuition plus col), 40 received half to full tuition, and the rest received between 14k and half tuition.
I asked for $ weeks ago but no response yet

I received the scholarship award letter via the email associated with my application. There is supposed to be a second round of scholarship offers on or around April 15th.chooy wrote: Did you receive the scholarship info through personal email?

Yes! Someone created it during ASD, so search for "UW Law Class of 2019" on Facebook. If it doesn't show up, PM me.keezmasterflex wrote:Did anyone create the admitted 2019 group on Facebook?

Congratulations! I am envious of you. I was just informed that I was not selected. Does this make it easy for you to choose UW?keezmasterflex wrote:Dean Testy called me this afternoon letting me know that I was selected as a Gregoire Fellow. Very excited! Has anyone else received any news?!!
Don't feel too sorry for me, though. Just received an email with a big increase in my UCLA scholarship. Still, Gregoire fellowship.....

Yes! I am definitely committed to UW at this point. All signs point toward the Puget Sound.robertwabisabi wrote:Congratulations! I am envious of you. I was just informed that I was not selected. Yes, it was. Dramatically. I left a voicemail in order to get some clarification. Not sure if the email was an error.

Ps. Congrats getting accepted to UCLA and the scholarship. That's an accomplishment. You should be proud.

In Dean Le's email regarding $0 in the first round of scholarships, he wrote:
"I want to assure you that because an initial scholarship offer was not made, it does not foreclose an award during the next round of offers. In fact, many students are offered scholarships later on—we are just unable to accommodate the overwhelming number of students seeking scholarship support at a given time."
Are there any current UW students who experienced this disappointing first round and were given an award during later rounds? Or can anyone shed light on UW's process, perhaps what makes them different in this regard from other relatively similar schools?

Did you also interview for the Gates Scholarship? If so, go you!
I noticed they removed the dollar amount from the Gregoire info page. Was yours lower than the $25,000/yr. they did last year?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
