Yup. I hope it doesn't mean waiting for admissions, but just the scholarship.
Thats my hope. I would imagine they wouldnt reject anyone who they were actually considering for the fellowship. Pretty bummed about March though.
Has anyone on TLS who got the email about the woodruff fellowship also gotten an acceptance yet?
I got accepted about 3 weeks ago and got that same email about the woodruff today

Honestly, one would think that Emory admissions could accept those that applied for woodruff scholarships and say something like, "You are accepted with at least $105,000 over the course of three years. You are still being considered for Woodruff." Why not?

It would make a lot more sense...but nothing their admissions office seems to make a whole lot of sense in the grand scheme of things. They seem very self-centered in their timelines, versus trying to keep up with the cycles of other schools.

Negotiating

Has anyone had any luck negotiating for more scholarship with Emory? Some threads that are several years old state their admissions office will not negotiate, but I wonder if that is still the case.

Hey everyone so I just called the office of admissions and feel free to call yourselves to confirm but I was told that Woodruff applicants shouldn't expect to hear back until March 10th for both admissions AND woodruff and that we shouldnt expect to hear back about either beforehand. I asked about what I had seen on the webside (Feb. 15th notification) and she said that they probably sent the email because they've been having difficulties with ED so everything has been pushed back it seems. Again, feel free to call yourselves and double check but that's what I was told a few minutes ago. I'm curious as to whether anyone who already got notice already one way or another about admissions also applied to Woodruff?
UGH that's so frustrating, having to wait until the second week of MARCH to hear anything back at all? :/
I too second the question if anyone has gotten an admissions decision and is waiting on a Woodruff notification.
Again, I really do encourage you to call and ask yourselves because when I mentioned the email at first she had to go ask someone about it. But i am relaying what I was told as it was communicated to me.

I wouldn't withdraw any applications or do anything rash in response to what I was told! haha

I also called admissions about this yesterday but I was told that it wouldn't affect the timing for our initial admissions decisions

Thanks for letting us know! so basically theres a possibility to hear before then/ we could potentially hear about woodruff/ decision separately? Is that what you got from that? Thanks again!

My takeaway is that you could still potentially receive your admissions decisions soon and your Woodruff in March

In via USPS mail today. Complete 1/11, GPA < 25 LSAT > 75. Didn't apply for Woodruff.

I would hope no one is trying to negotiate this early, but last year I mentioned in passing at ASW to Dean Rosenzweig I was on a short timeline to decide between Emory and a Dean's Fellowship at WUSTL. He congratulated me on their offer, but immediately moved to mentioning Emory doesn't negotiate.

Just wondering, was it regular snail mail or USPS priority?

I know Emory's Early Decision process involves a decision notification within 14 days, but presumably that means you might hear back before the 14th day. How soon would it be reasonable to expect to hear back?

Anyone on here apply ED? What was the timeframe like?

I applied ED. I heard back within the week (4 or 5 business days as I recall), but it was early in the cycle.

Thanks. Full of nervous energy over here waiting to hear back -- it seems like I could get the decision by email at any minute. I figured if it typically took the whole 14 days, I could put it out of my mind for a few days, but I guess I'm back to anxious mode. Lol.

I got an email notifying me I was under review a day or two after I submitted and then a day or two later I got my notification via email. The waiting game isn't fun but it's better than waiting for months. Good luck!

Does anyone know if Woodruff consideration is mainly based on LSAT/GPA or are soft factors considered more heavily?
