Checking in! I had my interview with an alum a few days ago and it was really chill. Basically a conversation about my WE, what area of law I wanted to practice in, why Vandy, etc., and the interviewer was reaaaaally trying to sell me on Vandy for a lot of the interview.
Good luck!

I had an alum interview too. That's what it felt like to me as well - that he was trying to sell me. He asked one question: "Why do you want to be a lawyer?" The rest of the interview felt like a friendly conversation. We talked mostly about his experiences at Vandy. It was very positive. It lasted about 40 min, and I felt very good about it afterwards. Anyone know just how "strongly encouraged" the interview is?

I love the small size and is one the reasons I chose Vanderbilt. It's nice that at the very least you recognize everyones face who is in your class. Also, in comparison to my friends at larger schools there seem to be more opportunities to get to know your professors.urbanist11 wrote:arklaw13 wrote:Vandy 3L here. I think I might like comparatively smaller classes, but I'm also worried ~160-170 students could be way too intimate. Interested in your perspectives on this.GreenJay wrote:Currently a Vandy 2L. My class did well as far as biglaw goes. About half the class did their 2L summer with a firm of 100 or more (or a smaller market paying firm). Doesn't mean everyone of those will get offers of course.Generally wrote:How amazing is Nashville? I know, rhetorical, but I live a five minute walk from Vandy. It would be such a seamless transition. As a 3L, how do you feel about job prospects? One thing I am a bit nervous about with Vandy is I really want Biglaw, and I am not sure Vandy gives me a good shot at it. What is your take?arklaw13 wrote:Vandy 3L here. Not really all that intimate. I still barely know anyone who wasn't in my section 1L.urbanist11 wrote:arklaw13 wrote:Vandy 3L here.
