I was really, really considering it, but after spending a semester in Lyon, I wasn't confident enough in my language abilities. Best of luck though!
Merci! :)
I'm from Belgium (we speak French here) and I'm really considering the joint program in case I can't find a job in the US after graduation. I think you're allowed to apply for the program your first semester of school too...
I came pretty close and decided to put it off until I start law school - mostly didn't want to postpone my application in order to go through the extra work...

+1. also-- how long after interviews do you think it will take for accept/WL/reject? speculation is welcome...this is TLS after all.

Judging from past cycles, it is neither necessary nor sufficient. However, it seems like Cornell uses interviews to find out who is truly interested in attending.

I'm speculating that it's currently for YP/Borderline, much like Georgetown.
There were plenty of people last year who got in without and many who got the interview got in.
Hard to say.

With a wave of interviews this big, it seems to me to be more admissions-centric (i.e., like the UVA interviews). But I'm just speculating, too.

Last year it looks like they promised a decision in 2 weeks for interviewees. I dont see that this year but wouldnt be suprised if we get decisions before jan.

welp. just did the interview- was mildly awkward, but i think fine. let's hope this is just a formality + we are all in!

ETA: my whole life is mildly awkward, so there is a big chance that vibe could have been entirely me-generated

When did you submit? I think most people getting interview requests submitted early Nov or earlier. But I might be wrong, haven't checked the spreadsheet.

I can't help but wonder what their interview metric is this year, how they're deciding who to interview.

Actually, most weren't interviewed last year (I think). Consensus, IIRC, was that they were using interviews to gauge the interest of candidates above the 75ths.

I submitted mid Nov, and it's said ready for review since the 18th (which I think is being understood as UR for Cornell?)

I went complete/ready for review on the 17th and just got a date change so yours should be pretty soon if they do them in order.
