Now that everything is pretty much over, what are your thoughts on Stanford Law?

Umm, it's the best fucking school in the entire goddamned world. I will be there this fall and am personally just grateful that I get to post in the C/O 2019 thread, where we actually have a real OP in fliptrip. Eat caca and die, Dcc617. Your parents hate you.

It's chill bro, but I was already set on Harvard or Yale anyway. I got my shades on to block out all that shade from CA. Enjoy the earthquakes, hippies.

I personally can't stand Stanford, its administration, and especially its admissions office. I waited patiently for 4-7 months only to get waitlisted or rejected less than a week before May. Seriously, go home Stanford, you're drunk (unless you accept me off the waitlist, then I will love you)

Meh, I mean, this was a total long shot for me. I just wanted to see what would happen. This is what I thought would happen.

I'm totally indifferent to Stanford, because I am super happy with the option I am going with. Grow up, Dcc617. You're embarrassing yourself with this poll.

I will be Seymour Asses from Futurama, and Stanford is my Fry. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? I WILL FUCKING DIE ON THE WAITLIST!

I am a lurker. I may not have even applied anywhere this cycle. My motives for lurking this thread are entirely inscrutable and apparently I have nothing better to do with my life.

Dcc617, stop making every other poll option about yourself. While you are very handsome, your constant narcissism and self-indulgence has become off-putting.

Maybe the dean is just gearing up to call us all the let us know we got accepted. I can dream, right?

Does anybody know when the ASW for Stanford will take place? I'm gauging the waitlist wave/real rejection wave based on those dates.

Next weekend. But last year people were still admitted after ASW as well.

It's starting to get kind of jacked up how long we're waiting. Schools are going to require commitments soon. People are going to have super short turnarounds to assess financial situations and stuff. I feel like this is absurd.

It is absurd. As long as the ABA allows law schools to require seat deposit deadlines as early as April 1st, it seems like schools should also be required to release some sort of preliminary decision by that date as well (provided you submitted an app prior to the application deadline)

Yeah, but at that point admissions were less than a trickle. Only a handful of people were getting calls on a weekly basis. This happened to me last year, and I am feeling pretty pessimistic about it. I would love a call from SLS, but at this point I think I am headed straight for the waitlist.

Would it be unwise to send in an additional LOR if it's Stanford specific this late in the game if I never sent a Stanford specific letter?

Edit: went back through the thread and found the answer

I checked this board earlier this morning, got discouraged, decided to go to a yoga class to lift my spirits, and got my acceptance call during the class. Voicemail was waiting for me when I got back in my car. So excited.

Condolences! At this point I'd really like them to just send me a rejection so I can move on with my life

Could be. Im actually pretty relieved that my cycles over. I got a fantastic option that i was gunna accept anyway, i was just waiting on this decision for cycle closure lol. Fingers crossed for you guys, its actually kind of annoying that theyre taking this long.

Well congrats then! Personally I don't mind the wait. If I don't get in here or get off Harvard's WL I'm reapplying next cycle anyway.

Again, congrats. Hope you're happy wherever you end up attending!

I'm really into Harvard's HBX CORe offer to admitted students (which requires a commitment this week to enroll), and Stanford is taking its time with my application, so I'm committing to HLS. Probably will be rejected from Stanford anyway. Happy not to have to worry about this anymore! Best of luck to y'all.

+180.

It's amazing how many people are in the same waiting boat at Stanford. It seemed like maybe half the people I met at Harvard's ASW, including every single person at my table for breakfast the second day, had applied to Stanford in the fall and heard absolutely nothing back yet.
