Maybe the dean is just gearing up to call us all the let us know we got accepted. I can dream, right?jlk411 wrote:hrmm okay thank you. traditionally do they always do these sprinkles of rejections? I seem to remember last year there were more significant ding waves..not that I'm requesting that lol

Does anybody know when the ASW for Stanford will take place? I'm gauging the waitlist wave/real rejection wave based on those dates.

Next weekend. But last year people were still admitted after ASW as well.Oskosh wrote:Does anybody know when the ASW for Stanford will take place? I'm gauging the waitlist wave/real rejection wave based on those dates.

It's starting to get kind of jacked up how long we're waiting. Schools are going to require commitments soon. People are going to have super short turnarounds to assess financial situations and stuff. I feel like this is absurd.pterodactyls wrote:Next weekend. It is absurd. As long as the ABA allows law schools to require seat deposit deadlines as early as April 1st, it seems like schools should also be required to release some sort of preliminary decision by that date as well (provided you submitted an app prior to the application deadline)

Re: Stanford C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016 cycle)
Yeah, but at that point admissions were less than a trickle. Only a handful of people were getting calls on a weekly basis. This happened to me last year, and I am feeling pretty pessimistic about it. I would love a call from SLS, but at this point I think I am headed straight for the waitlist.pterodactyls wrote:Next weekend. Would it be unwise to send in an additional LOR if it's Stanford specific this late in the game if I never sent a Stanford specific letter?

I checked this board earlier this morning, got discouraged, decided to go to a yoga class to lift my spirits, and got my acceptance call during the class. Voicemail was waiting for me when I got back in my car. So excited.

Well congrats then! Personally I don't mind the wait. If I don't get in here or get off Harvard's WL I'm reapplying next cycle anyway.jnwa wrote:Could be. Hey all,
Do you also get an email when you've been DLS'ed? Or it just shows up on the status tracker?

Re: Stanford C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016 cycle)
I'm really into Harvard's HBX CORe offer to admitted students (which requires a commitment this week to enroll), and Stanford is taking its time with my application, so I'm committing to HLS. Probably will be rejected from Stanford anyway. Happy not to have to worry about this anymore! Best of luck to y'all.

It's amazing how many people are in the same waiting boat at Stanford. It seemed like maybe half the people I met at Harvard's ASW, including every single person at my table for breakfast the second day, had applied to Stanford in the fall and heard absolutely nothing back yet.
